Honestly, there's really no viable solution other than "hard Brexit." Just announce a date when the UK officially leaves, and begin negotiating new trade deals with the countries that matter. Leave Brussels to piss & moan. As I've pointed out before, the EU is coming apart at the seams, and the only question is how long before it officially comes crashing down.

That's a weird situation. They were originally the Knights Hospitaller, whose mission was to protect pilgrims in Jerusalem. After Jerusalem fell to the Muslims they bounced around a bit before settling in Malta. They've always been independent of any government control. Today, their "territory" is one building in Rome.

Funny, watching a really good History Channel type rerun on the Crusades... they named the French Crusader Kings who gathered their forces for the pilgrimage to Jerusalem. The name HUGH MAGNUS stood out....one of my relatives!
