They can march for her all they want. If those weapons are theirs legally, it's their right.

However, they might want to pay attention to her agenda. She's tried to pass gun confiscation and got called on it again just not too long ago. It's part of her plan.

“And, again, my point is this: The legislation introduced was the beginning of a conversation," Abrams shot back. "I am absolutely certain that, were we to pass this in Georgia, we would have a conversation about grandfathering in, about whether or not people would turn their guns in, whether there would be buybacks. There are a number of approaches to take to accomplish this goal.”

The goal was much more than a simple assault weapons ban, though. The legislation didn’t just ban scary-looking guns like AR-15 and AK-47-style rifles. It also expanded the definition of assault weapon to include certain semiautomatic shotguns and semiautomatic pistols.

Her bill would have made a lot of people, including those adoring Black Panthers, instant felons for owning their guns.

The real trick in her answer was that she expected passing a law to "start a conversation." That's just not the way it works. Once the law is passed, it is done; there's nothing to converse about. The conversation is supposed to start before passing a law.

She apparently either does not get that, or (more likely) thinks no one else does.

Pass something that makes every legal gun owner an instant criminal and that will be one heck of a conversation all right. I don't foresee much compliance with what she wants either if she gets her way.

Hunting rifle when held by a white man.... assault rifle in the hands of a black man.

Pfffft...

Same old song and dance...

Is that your assessment? Because I have seen most folks here posting about their rights to exercise their 2nd Amendment right, and not about their skin color.

Quite a lame attempt at race baiting though on your part.

Nah... just pointing out the difference. Most Republicans claim that an AR-15 isn't an assault rifle.... but it is when it suits their agenda....

My response was directed to the OP... not anyone else posting on this thread...

Because it is not an assault rifle (whatever that is since it is a made up term used to confuse and scare the ignorant). But, keep trying to race bait and make blind assumptions.

So... are you trying to tell me that I'm race baiting for pointing out the hypocrisy in the title of this thread? Because the entire OP is friggin chum chucking excursion. Do you not see the irony here? I mean comon man... seriously. Unless you're just blindly following one side or the other, use some common sense and recognize the BS when you see it.

Then perhaps you should explain to me how the title is hypocritical and racist?

Title: "Armed With Assault Rifles, Black Panthers March For Stacey Abrams"

Section 1: "Armed With Assault Rifles"
Use of the term "assault rifles" in this sarcastic thread title obviously escapes you. It's the term used by the ignorant to describe those rifles that are all scary looking. The thread author was being sarcastic and using the term as a dig at the ignorant. In addition, it seems those same ignorant people cannot grasp the sarcasm either. Revealing even more ignorance and lack of humor.

Section 2: "Black Panthers March For Stacey Abrams"
As these are, indeed, Black Panthers, and that is the name of their group, how in the heck is that racist? And since they are obviously marching for the politician Stacy Abrams, that is just factual.

In a continuation of the sarcasm, the OP slathers on even more in that first post. As part of that sarcasm is the underlying truth that these supporters obviously are racist themselves since they are supporting a candidate that would have them jailed for carrying those weapons. So, in a grand case of racial ignorance (supporting her only for her skin color and not her issues) they are trying to elect someone that would not hesitate to take away their 2nd Amendment rights.

I hope this analysis did not go over your head and was easier to understand now. I saw it immediately, but for some, it needs to be spelled out explicitly I guess.

Most of us are acknowledging their actions as patriotic. Exercising your Constitutional rights is always patriotic.

The organization's ideology is a violent revolutionary socialist movement. But guess what? Under our laws and great freedoms, those folks have every right in the World to do what they're doing and believe what ever they want provided they don't actually commit acts of violence/criminal acts.

Just because some Black Panthers have been violent doesn't mean we get to crucify them all and label them as some kind of terrorists. We don't do guilt by association or collective punishment here either. No American will ever have generations of their family punished for speaking freely, unlike some of the repressive states out there. But the specific individuals in this photo are doing nothing more than exercising their unalienable rights, which I support to the grave without precondition or reservation. And how they are demonstrating - peacefully but in force - is pretty patriotic if you ask me

You don't have to be white to be patriotic. The left, of all people, should understand our sentiments here. IMO, these specific Panthers have demonstrated our old saying "An armed society is a polite society." Or one of my favorite: "Peace through superior firepower"
Heck, in one of the photos I saw someone holding what appeared to be an FN M249S (although it could've been a modified Ruger 10/22) Either way, I like their taste in firearms.

Black Nazis...who knew...

There are all sorts of nazis. After all the nazis were a branch of socialism. Even Gandhi was a "national socialist" and to this day there are several "national socialist" groups made up of all sorts of people/races.

Oh that's funny... the OP is sarcasm? I don't think so bud.... the only thing sarcastic about it is the line, "Nice bunch of guys I would say".

Go peddle that crap somewhere else... your juvenile tactics won't work on me.

Looks out !!

The Black Panthers are backing the Georgia candidate for Governor Stacey Abrams !!

They are so serious, they are showing guns to intimidate you !!

Nice bunch of guys I would say 😆

Armed With Assault Rifles, Black Panthers March For Stacey Abrams

Members of the Black Panther Party marched through the city of Atlanta, strapped with assault rifles and brandishing Stacey Abrams campaign signs.

In a video posted on the group’s Facebook page on Saturday, members of the Black Panther Party are seen marching through the West End neighborhood of Atlanta in support of Stacey Abrams gubernatorial campaign. As they marched, the Black Panthers carried assault rifles and continually shouted slogans such as “black power” and “power to the people.”

Abrams, a former Democratic state representative, is running in a tight election against Republican Brian Kemp, Georgia’s current Secretary of State. The Real Clear Politics average of recent polls shows Kemp up by 1.1 percentage points, well within the margin of error.

And standing in front of a generic dollar store. You can't make this crap up. I hope they weren't too bummed by her loss.

But I think the reason to do that is to intimidate white voters.

What pussy would be intimidated by this?

Fortunately none were. Hell, some probably even voted against her just because of them.

There's probably not a single white man that would hunt with one of those weapons. Terrible job trying to race bait.

Not I. I think they're borderline domestic terrorists trying to intimidate civilians for political purposes. But I'm not against them standing there with their guns, as that is their right. But a patriot? Hell no. Patriots love America.
