Tell me, who and what can the House investigate that Mueller already hasn't? You sound like someone standing over a beaten-to-a-pulp victim screaming "I'm gonna beat you up!"

The real problem is and has been the unwillingness for the Democrats in Congress to do what they were elected to do. They are legislators, not investigators. They failed to legalize marijuana at the Federal level, preferring to let Obama just not enforce the law. They failed to codify DACA, preferring to just let an unconstitutional Executive Order handle it. Now they want to ignore their primary job to play detective, rather than getting to work and doing their job.

Maybe they should quit running for office and wasting all that money making silly threats and get regular jobs at the FBI? Seems that's what they really want.

House win was historically below average for democrats.
If 26-39 republicans had not decided to retire over the past year...republicans would still hold the house.

This shows the degree of gerrymandering in the system. Nationwide votes in the House went 54-47 in favor of Democrats and they walked away with 30 seats. In 2010 votes went with that same split for Republicans and the got nearly 70 seats.

Districts are rigged such that Democrats have to win by about 5 points just to break even.

Democrats had 7 million more votes than Republicans.

The 2010 local elections screwed Democrats over for this entire decade.

In North Carolina Republicans won with 50.3% of the vote. They took 10 of 13 seats.

It is gerrymandered to all hell.

Been at work today, have the Democrats been crushed as predicted and thus that dam bloody wall we heard about for so long, is that now going to be built on the broken Democrat party?

@realdonaldtrump
"If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level. Two can play that game!"

Maybe the money is just going to be wasted instead, with tweets like these at least its a transparent government, promising to waste taxpayers money on fruitless investigations.

In his press conference today Trump literally said if the Congress investigates anything about him or his cabinet (AKA Congressional Oversight) that he will refuse to pass/sign any bills from the House no matter what they are.

Amazing that he doesn't even pretend to put country first. It's all about him.

Really it sounded like a scared person making threats. Don't investigate anything OR ELSE.

It's a very frustrating investigation, because it requires delving into the CIA/FSB (KGB renamed to FSB) world where 99% of the exhonorating evidence you could present requires burning an asset in the field. Possibly getting someone killed, captured, or captured and then tortured and killed.

Putin can offer up "evidence" at his leisure, any time he wants to make Trump's life miserable. Not necessarily because there is any truth here. Just because Putin is in charge of an intelligence agency approximately as big as America's CIA.

The investigation is political theatre, rather than a true court of law, so it can be pretty thin evidence and still carry.

So you have to ask yourself: why do the Democrats want to put Putin in such a strong position? What did his hackers find when the FSB hacked the Democratic National Convention computers?

Wow, this disconnect from reality is just...well, disconcerting, to tell the truth.

That is hilarious.

After the past week of posting how the Dems would be crushed I am not sure you are qualified to asses reality.

Yes, it was a Blue Wave. Yes it was a Red Wave as well. The Blue wave was larger than the Red Wave.

that is reality.

And the disconnect continues! Please, do continue.

There was no red wave, no blue wave. Both eked out victories. The Republicans victories are ultimately more powerful than the Democrats' victories. The GOP no longer has to court any supporters in the Senate. In the House, the slim minority is hardly enough to solidly push a Dem agenda.

That's OK, you have two years to get over it.

So just to be clear by crushed you mean
Dems gain 29 seats in the house while GOP loses 29 seats
and Dems gained seven additional democrat governorships while the GOP loses seven.
Hmmmm, not seeing the crushing part yet so, the crushed part must be the two seats we lost while the GOP gained in the senate.
Which in reality is just more of what they have been facing since 2010 with Obamas first midterms. SSDD in other words.
And there are moderates on both sides so this may not be the gridlock crap some seem to be hoping for.
Nope, not seeing the crushed.

I think he means the Dems got crushed because they played exactly into 4D chessmaster Donald's hands, insomuch as he WANTED Dems to take the house because he's just so much smarter and ahead of everyone else that he's the only one to realize some super secret strategy that explains how Republican's losing is actually winning, QED.

2 years for Democrats to resolve their demons and make the case for 2020.

2 years for them to expose themselves further into the dungeons of oblivion 😎

At first I considered the midterms to pretty much be a wash between the two parties. After looking at some numbers though it's undeniable that the Dems at least took home a huge symbolic victory. If the Dems can repeat this performance in 2020 then they will take the Presidency. Looking at the popular votes for each state they would have won enough states to win the electoral college. Not only that they would've won the exact same states that Obama took in 2012.

So I would argue that definitely puts the Republicans on the back foot for the next two years. All the Dems have to do is maintain while the Republicans need to make up ground.

You were correct in your first sentence, and I agree(as a Trump Supporter) it's pretty much a wash. Both sides have enough to try and claim a victory. The Republicans won enough in the senate that they can confirm pretty much any Judge they wish, and that IS a big deal. The Democrats won the house and that's enough to prevent Congress from passing significant laws if they so wish. Stop the wall, etc.

Neither side had a HUGE Victory, there was no Red Wave there was no Blue Wave. It'll be more of the same nonsense for the next two years. I don't think this really has any impact on the 2020 elections because frankly this was a mid term and it's always less Voter Engagement. If either side had full participation in this mid-term, there WOULD have been a wave. Both sides did turn on in greater numbers FOR MID TERMS but neither overpowered the other.

So yeah... Just a wash, meh.

?????

There was indisputable record turn-out for this mid-term election.

By every measure, including the Senate in total votes, their were millions of more people who voted Dem than GOP.

There was a wave both Red and Blue. Blue was larger.

It was the fact that this cycle 26 of the 35 Senate seats up for re-election were Dem.
The GOP only had to defend 9 seats.

And they only gained 3 seats from the 26 vulnerable??

In 2020 there will be 22 GOP seats up for re-election and only 11 Dem seats.

The GOP lost the House and squandered and opportunity to make significant gains in the Senate while retaining control.

In another two years they lose the Senate and the WH as well.

The insane corruption amongst Trump's cabinet officials?

Hell...It's near weekly.

Here is the latest Trump pet to be investigated:

Really? Which has more impact. It would have been an extreme shocker if the Republicans kept the house. The brass ring was the senate and the left lost seats to the point that not even a rhino can help them here..BIG BIG loss. The Republicans also had better gains in Governors, so this also plays into important rolls in the near future too.

This is what a wave looks like if you didn't know... 2014 red wave on Obama

????

Republicans had NO GAINS. THEY HAD LOSSES. Democrats flipped 7 Governors from GOP with 3 more races still to be decided that could add to that number.

They also flipped several state legislatures.

But you are right about one thing, that plays an important roll for the near future.

Is there some "Alternative Facts" station where Trump supporters get their alternate reality from?
