nt sure if anyone would be into this.
watched it last night. very good documentary from a few years back.

documents the coaches and squad of the Iowa Hawkeye wrestling squad in 2001 and how they run their program.

Jim Zalesky had just taken over head coach duties from Dan Gable. he wrestled under Gable.
Tom Brands as assistant coach.

its really good if youre into this stuff

shows a little Cael Sanderson and talks about the rivalry between Iowa and Iowa state.

Iowa had 27 championships in 20 years.

My daughter is a manager for her high school wrestling team.
Moping blood, keeping score, weight lifting with the guys.

She loves it.... Who da thunk it?

I had 4 gals on the team with me when I wrestled.
If she decides to, it could be a good thing for her.

In the countless matches of my teammates, I can only think of one where her opponent was. . . less than respectful.

The sport is very skilled. What's on TV is scripted but if Hulk Hogan picks you up, throws you against the ropes and then does a double-half duplex-supreme you better know how to fall. Regular folk aren't going to stand back up again after that.

She can take care of herself and to be honest, the boys very protective of her.

I would prefer she doesn't wrestle because it gives her an athletic season off between volleyball and softball.
Young bodies need a break in my opinion.

That's fair. And yes, my team was very protective of our managers as well as our teammates.
