I was thinking of building a train car for this game I'm running. There's going to be a lot going on in the game and using minis would make tracking movement and stuff easier. The minis are 28mm. How big should the train car be in inches?

Can't you do some math? Google a train car dimensions. Then measure your people. Find the ratio between a normal person and the miniatures... Apply ratio to train car dimensions.

do you actually need to build a model ??? - it sounds like you is doing some kind of RPG

would just a floorplan suffice ?????????

as for size // scale - what base size are your figures - and what rules`are you using ???

the rules SHOULD give a guide to dimensions

I found something and thought I'd update this thread. Thanks for the two who were helpful and I hope the third is having a better day. You didn't have to be snippy.

Train car

ETA:

Yes, this is for a tabletop rpg. It's for Deadlands Reloaded, which uses Savage Worlds. I highly recommend their games. In the corebook they suggest using minis. Also, I like crafting and a train sounds interesting.
