I spose it is because I think with my emotions. I put myself in Spock's place and by his own logic his worth as a sentient Being is lessened. That is sad.

A vault is a container. There is also an overtone of "secure container".

So, one might say that CERN may have been built over a vault with the purpose of opening it.

There is also the implication that CERN already has the "Key to Apollo's vault" - the LHC.

If true, then that would the purpose of the LHC complex located on the border of France and Switzerland.
