They do the same when the teachers strike to extort more money from the tax payers... but we will sure as hell never hear you criticize them for that. Also, why would Hispanic Americans care about this? Are they Americans or are they Mexicans? The wall is a nationality issue, not a racial one.

What if I told you my Hispanic friends don't find it offensive?

Good for them, the students who were Hispanic did. Just because they aren’t offended doesn’t make it correct.

What if I told you my daughter watched students harass a Hispanic student right after Trump won the election and tell her to go back beyond the wall. I bet your Hispanic friends would love their children to be exposed to that.

I don’t want you to agree with me, I just want you to ask yourself, what if. What if I’m wrong. What if I’ve been misled. Just a little self reflection. Seeing things from a different perspective. That’s it.

I have lived my entire life in this manner. I'm married to a liberal- more than 30 years now. (At least she used to be a liberal. The left accomplished this last cycle in a few short months what I could not do over three decades.) I have a jewish father, a foreign national immigrant catholic mother, a sister-in-law who is a muslim (also an immigrant), an uncle who is a hasidic rabbis, another uncle who was the communist leader of a major European city (another foreign national), and a best friend who is a self-proclaimed socialist. I've lived half my life out of this country and in several other countries. I speak several languages and could go on and on.

My whole life has been defined by "seeing things from a different perspective".

But it seems even that is asking too much.

Because you seem to think you have everyone summed up in your head from the comfort of your keyboard.

Your arrogance runs so deep you seem to have no way of holding yourself to the same standard you demand of others.

All you do is spew hate with anyone you remotely associate with Trump.

I know nothing of your background or experience. But what I do see is someone who spends an awful lot of energy trying to demonize anyone you disagree with.

Maybe, just maybe you should be doing a little self reflection of your own.

Now your twisted sense of humor suddenly has a threshold and it's people in sombreros and a cardboard wall costume? That's over the line for a dude who finds humor in things the vast majority of the population are disturbed by? I'm gonna call bullroar on that, my friend. There was humor in those costumes.

oh its funny
but not cool in a school

not personally offended in any way

its the comments that i enjoy.
Nyiah makes another great point

Not saying it's correct or incorrect for that matter Just trying to get everyone to stop using absolutes. It's called perspective.

You might find the costume offensive, that's fine. My friend Juan says he thought it was hilarious, and that's fine too.

As long as they were just costumes and not pushing any particular ideology, then it remains just that... a costume.

No one got offended when I went to school on horse and buggy with a long beard (dressed as an amish kid) in the 90s. What changed? Or was I wrong?

For the same reason black Americans take offence when white Americans mock them by wearing blackface.

Oh yeah - you’re right. Its funny. And not offensive unless you’re a weinie.

Just like the guy who dresses up as Trump for Halloween.

So we have people making fun of illegal immigrants whom none of us know - they have no face to recognize and others making fun of Trump - the man holding the most distinguished position in the US government.

Neither are disrespectful to me because it’s in jest, I have a sense of humor and neither person/group being made fun of gives a damn. So Why should I?

If you click your heels together 3 times, you’ll be transported to your safe space!

Their wall said ‘Make America Great Again’... so ... ya pushing an agenda. And I totally agree with everything being in ‘absolutes’. I think this is how we get ourselves into these positions to begin with. We seem to be getting more polarized when we should be getting less.

And how many kids got harassed because they or their parents were Trump supporters?

Bullying is bullying. Does it matter what excuse is used?

Cool so it’s all good if it’s all in jest.. in an elementary school for that matter. Okay let me know where your school district is we so can send in a bunch of crazy costumes for your kids determine what is funny and what isn’t.

I guess one could argue that is pushing an agenda....I dont see it that way though.

I think there's a difference in just having MAGA written on a costume and actually indoctrinating a child into MAGA ideologies...

In Idaho none as it’s as red as a state can get. But if someone chooses to support Trump they shouldn’t be bullied either.

I still fail to see ANY connection between ‘illegal’ immigration and ‘race’.

If a white Australian sneaks into the United States and starts living in California. Then that WHITE Australian is an ‘illegal’ immigrant.

Just because this current hoard of invaders happen to be majority Hispanic heritage does NOT make this a racial issue, not even slightly.

The city of Liberty Hill.

Hopefully our kids will be able to help construct them in art class.

If they could arrive last week so it’d be in time for halloween, that would be great!

Ill let you know who wins “best costume”
