Ben & Jerry's launches Donald Trump-inspired ice cream flavor, Pecan Resist

The Burlington, Vermont-based business is using the new flavor to criticize some of President Donald Trump's recent pronouncements.

"The company cannot be silent in the face of President Trump’s policies that attack and attempt to roll back decades of progress on racial and gender equity, climate change, LGBTQ rights and refugee and immigrant rights – all issues that have been at the core of the company’s social mission for 40 years," Ben & Jerry's said in a statement.

Does EVERYTHING in the US need to be politicized now? We can't even shop for ice cream without a political message attached?

I have no problem with Ben & Jerry's taking a stance on an issue with press statements and donations, but when they are actually designing consumer products with the express purpose of exploiting a political view, that is where I start getting annoyed. I find this no different than going to a concert or a play and in the middle of the expected performance they divert into a political speech about how terrible the "evil politician of the moment" is and how anyone supporting them must be a horrible human being. ENOUGH ALREADY, SHUT UP AND SING! I didn't by the ticket to a political rally, I bought a ticket to a damned concert! And when I go to the grocery store, I go to buy groceries, not your political drivel, no matter who it is for or against.

Someone stop the world, I want to get off!

First and foremost... I bet it's f###ing delicious.

Second... this is a smart move on their part... Ben and Jerrys has fallen by the wayside to whatever new bad a$$ ice cream is out in Whole Foods (Coolhaus, Halo, etc) ... so this new political statement with a crazy good flavor that hits all the right notes for their target audience...

I'd say it's genius.

I'm down for ice cream... say yes to ice cream.

Yep! Lost me as a customer years ago. Why a business would be dumb enough to alienate half #less or more of it's consumers is due to bringing politics into business is one of the most stupid business models to anyone wanting to make money. But if you look at how the Multi Nationals seem to be the ones directing politics and behaviors it doesn't surprise me much. Look at the NFL for a glaring example.......

I apologize for being born at 9:28 pm on July 14th 1973. Moon opposite Sun...big time. It's the reason the world all of you live in is so politicized (opposite poles) (sun vs the moon). It's the reason the pol(e)ice exist and are necessary (opposite ends of the spine chakra alignment (red = 1st chakra, blue = 5th chakra = the red and blue lights of the siren (not to mention the black and white of the police car).

It's the reason so many idiots decide to get into politics (all of them), etc.
