Well, it's not like you're sayong, "ban guns", not at all, just have more faith in the people, but the people are the very ones doing this. Perhaps an armed guard, at this point, may be a valid answer.

I guess you'll be funding guards with your taxes, then?
We already do and fund a variety of things. We're a world class buying culture, moot point to bring up taxes now, these days.

You just have to actually read the constitution.

I have done so. More than once. It's not really a very long document. Amendments and all.

YOU are responsible for your own safety when the chips are down and the fight has started. That's not victim blaming,

That isn’t. But that’s not what Trump said.

In a desperate situation, who has the most to lose? An armed guard, or those he is protecting? If an armed guard fails, he might... might... lose his job (Parkland, anyone?). If the person he is protecting fails, they will likely lose their life. So who has the most benefit in stopping a shooter?

Armed guards are fine, but they can't be everywhere. If only 50% of the people carry and are trained, that means, on average, if there's two people in an area, one of them is armed.

So you get better coverage and surer response. The only downside is that so many people are afraid of the mean old guns unless someone they don't know in a uniform is carrying them instead of their neighbor they do know. How does that make any sense?

Everyone knew another alleged shooting would be coming along. Anytime the democrats start losing or get exposed this happens. Go figure.

You gotta provide something to think that this was done by democrats...

Seriously? Is everything a plow by democrats?

Wait... wasn't that the pipe bombers ideology?

You're right, this is what he said:

Trump also said the outcome might have been different if the synagogue "had some kind of protection" from an armed guard and suggested that might be a good idea for all churches and synagogues.

So when the chips are down and there's an attack happening how do you propose it gets handled?

Easy... Just stay calm, be respectful and considerate, then explain to them that what they are doing is illegal and they need to stop. Then tell them guns are bad.
....right and as the mentally unhinged lowers his weapon for a bit, thinks, than chuckles an eerie chuckle and immediately blasts you, just for kicks, you can think about what happened because you'll be dead.

This is a very real scenario with some very folks out there.

OOOH But ...violence is not the answer. We have to be compasionate and tollerant. Take the " High"road even if it means making your wife a widow and leaving your kids without a father. Make the sacrifice for the greater good LOL.

Trump should make a speach about a civilian army stronger than the military or law enforcement LOL.

Heck... just plagerize Obama's speech.

Yep. Otherwise, Eric Holder will kick you.

Sorry, couldn't resist...

So then tell me the two most prominent ways in the constitution to declare an enemy and go after him/them?

Sounds like a very big government solution to me, like something Democrats would propose.

Are you talking about citizens? There seems to be only one way to do that. Through the courts.

There's the Letter of Marque and Reprisal which can still be used. Also to officially declare these groups insurrectionists.

The conditions for a Letter of Marque and Reprisal have long ago been met same with the conditions to take them down via a declaration of insurrection by these groups.

Article 1 section 8 clause 11:

"To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;"

Article 1 section 8 clause 15
"To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;"

How about this.. An app called "community". You can sign up for volunteer stuff in your community. One of the things would be armed guards or community watch.

Conceal carry approved members could sign up and maybe get paid $5 an hour or something.

It's really up to the citizens and community to create protection. Otherwise your spending billions in a police state armed guard service where 99.99% of the time nothing is happening.

I'm suprised more aren't calling out trump on this half-assed idea...

For a so-called business man, he doesn't really do any math on his ideas...

You know, by this logic then every single place in the America must have armed guards and that's some stupid logic.
