Blaming the victim is blaming the victim, no matter how you look at it.

“If they didn’t want to get shot, they should have had guns.”

“If she didn’t want to get raped, she shouldn’t have dressed like that.”

All it is, is a way to purposely not talk about the underlying issues in either case. The blame should be cast on the psycho who perpetrated this horrendous crime and not on the peaceful victims. It’s not their fault they didn’t plan to be murdered by some crazy person.

Argument from absurdity.

Good, you get my point. Now, can you expand it to some other recent events and the claims made?

Not the topic of this thread.

No. I asked do you object to the idea of armed guards.

Do you object?

So when the chips are down and there's an attack happening how do you propose it gets handled?

Easy... Just stay calm, be respectful and considerate, then explain to them that what they are doing is illegal and they need to stop. Then tell them guns are bad.

Everyone knew another alleged shooting would be coming along. Anytime the democrats start losing or get exposed this happens. Go figure.

Actually most synagogues have very good security. I am sure the one his family attends does even before he was POTUS. They should have security. The Jewish population has the most hate crimes each year. Most deaths over the decades also I believe so...this is really sad.

Why are we talking about what Trump said and not discussing what this sick fark did?

Why the hell do we allow the Nazi's to operate in the US?

Free speech.
Freedom of association.

Things like that. Rights.
They can be a pain in the ass. Right?

Well, it's not like you're sayong, "ban guns", not at all, just have more faith in the people, but the people are the very ones doing this. Perhaps an armed guard, at this point, may be a valid answer.

That's a pretty big stretch right there. Might take you two weeks to get back, so be careful.

Why the hell do we allow the Nazi's to operate in the US? They are enemies of the United States, why are they allowed to do anything here?

Because people love them and agree with them

When you say that out loud - people think you're just a stupid leftist and you're attacking people on the right. When, in fact - you are attacking racists and Nazis

True story

I guess you'll be funding guards with your taxes, then?

He made a suggestion. Nobody has to follow it, he is not recommending some mandatory policy decision. They asked his opinion, he gave his opinion. He said it best honestly, the world is an ugly place, danger is everywhere. China just had another mass stabbing recently. Is there a way to blame guns or extremist rhetoric for that??

Humans are going to human and flip out. The illusion, the dream is that we can live in a world where we can be free of any chance agressive hostility will occur. The only real world solution is to be vigilante at all times throughout living just as all life on Earth and likely the universe, preferably while armed with a tool or method of personal defense. Or keep living in bewilderment that reality does not neatly fit with the last half century of brainwashing of a world where people can naively ignore their personal well being and obliviously exist without the thought of having to maintain vigilance or expectation of having to use force to engage in their rights of Life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

Those are hypothetical, a better comparison would
be like the one in the OP, armed guards at a bank or
financial institution.

We have those because we know human nature commands it.

YOU are responsible for your own safety when the chips are down and the fight has started.

That's not victim blaming, that's reality. People like the shooter don't want a fight they want victims. The other approach would feed them the victims they want.

No one plans for this. I follow the Mattis approach to preparedness.

....right and as the mentally unhinged lowers his weapon for a bit, thinks, than chuckles an eerie chuckle and immediately blasts you, just for kicks, you can think about what happened because you'll be dead.

This is a very real scenario with some very folks out there.

There are a few LEGAL and CONSTITUTIONALLY prescribed methods of doing exactly what I suggested. You just have to actually read the constitution.

That comes down to citizens wanting to do that. But I agree with you..Conceal carry is the best route

Next discussion and investigation should be how he obtained the guns. A lot of people seem to be avoiding that.
