#2 -- They mix facts with opinion too easily. That muddies the water for regular listeners. Those like us, here on ATS, see through it, but regular people are influenced by it.

Isn't not doing that a major rule of news reporting that should be learned in school/training. I guess education and knowledge is optional now. I would imagine the salaries being paid make corruption to get the position rule 1.

There might be one of these every day leading up to the elections.

no, really I don't...
you seem to be suggesting that if this turns into a debate gun control, it will influence people to vote republican.
which maybe it would, although no by much since most who would find this a big influence would have already to take that course. but either way, this wouldn't be vote surpression, it would just be people voting according to their own determination as to what would be best.

It seems to me that there are crazy, murderous people on both sides. Beyond that there are extremists on both sides that don't kill but commit acts of violence and destruction. What we all need to understand is that these are the far fringes of both parties. More importantly we need to understand that these types have all been around and always will be around in a free society. Freedom by its nature has an ugly side and people will get hurt and killed and their will be some levels of destruction. However, the benefits of freedom far out weigh the dangers. Very few of us would like every one of our thoughts and activities monitored and limited just for the sake of safety from a very small percent of the overall population.

I enjoy a good political argument and I even like to drag it down in to the gutter from time to time. However, I do realize that whether we are right or left, for unlimited freedom, small government, etc or for socialism or even communism we for the most part have much more in common than we have difference. We are all motivated to meet our needs and the needs of our families and loved ones. We just see different ways to get there.

Most of the amped up disagreement we see from both sides is driven by the fact that we are all gradually seeing our daily lives decline, either financially or from a decline in freedom to think and act as we wish. The right blames the bloated government that consumes our hard earned money and see them waste it more than they use it to benefit us. The left blames the corporations who are many times guilty of robbing us of our hard earned money through bloated pricing and for not sharing the wealth through increased wages or bonuses.

The fact is we are both partially right and we are both partially wrong, but we are both fighting for the same level of security. Somehow we need to find common ground and let the differences fall to the way side and focus our efforts against both the government and corporations. Not in violent ways but speaking with our votes and our pocket books and where who we sell our working hours to. Most importantly, we must be willing to suffer to a degree in order to get the upper hand.

The deck is stacked against us to a degree and we need to work to reshuffle the deck, but also we need to be grateful for what we do have. For the most part and relative to the rest of world, and relative to human history our lives are pretty damn good. If they weren't we wouldn't have so much time to sit around on the internet and fight all the time.

Y'know, I hope you're wrong...

But I don't think you are, no matter what happens, there will be groups of people who will just not be able to accept gracefully, and move on, and try again in a couple of years.

It's the biggest NWO arrangement. They played chess with us. We better start accepting this is civil war 2.0, it never ended.

So the shooter apparently said on social media... if it's even him (you never know with the media)

“I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered,” the post read. “Screw your optics, I’m going in.”

Sounds very odd.
My people??

where did I say anything about voter suppression??

I said guns don't vote. Gun owners do.

Where in that statement is voter suppression mentioned??

I vote by mail, or I get my ballot in the mail, then drop it off at the appropriate drop box. Haven't been suppressed yet...and since I help out with the counting and sorting of the received ballots, I think I'd notice any shenanigans going on in the counting process.

FBI: US hate crimes rise for second straight year
www.bbc.com...

Hate crimes are up in America's 10 largest cities. Here's why
www.usatoday.com...

Brian Levin, co-author of the report, attributed the recent increases to greater "incivility" in national politics, citing policies such as President Donald Trump's travel ban from several majority-Muslim countries. National events can also spur these types of crimes, according to Heidi Beirich, director of the intelligence project at the Southern Poverty Law Center. After the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, crimes against Muslim people were rampant, Beirich said. The FBI reported 8,063 hate crimes in 2000 and 9,730 in 2001.

Sounds like it.
It's definitely time to tone down the rhetoric against white people. This guy was obviously triggered by something.
HIAS was the apparent focus of his angst.

I still can't understand this. Jewish people tend to be white.

Or am I missing something?
