During a brief drive to deliver my lovely new bride some much needed dinner, Glen Beck happened to be on the radio. He precedes one of my favorite broadcasts and I didn't care to really change the station although I'm not a fan. He mentioned a gentleman I've never heard; David Gelernter

Professor at Yale, futurist, writer, IT professional and Jew. Pretty much your elite geek. Also the first victim of the Unabomber.

Well, Beck referenced an article, so upon returning to work I found this article, and to my surprise, there are some very resonating opinions and facts that are put into text that I've yet to be found so succinct.

The Real Reason They Hate Trump - Article from the WSJ

A few highlights, and it's worth the read.

For now, though, the left’s only issue is “We hate Trump.” This is an instructive hatred, because what the left hates about Donald Trump is precisely what it hates about America. The implications are important, and painful.

Not that every leftist hates America. But the leftists I know do hate Mr. Trump’s vulgarity, his unwillingness to walk away from a fight, his bluntness, his certainty that America is exceptional, his mistrust of intellectuals, his love of simple ideas that work, and his refusal to believe that men and women are interchangeable. Worst of all, he has no ideology except getting the job done. His goals are to do the task before him, not be pushed around, and otherwise to enjoy life. In short, he is a typical American—except exaggerated, because he has no constraints to cramp his style except the ones he himself invents.

The line that hit me like a truck:

We know for sure that, come 2020, intellectuals will be dumbfounded at the number of women and blacks who will vote for Mr. Trump. He might be realigning the political map: plain average Americans of every type vs. fancy ones.

Someone who understands that it's not a race, political, sexual, gender or even coastal war. It's a social war.

On its own, it's a great article, IMO of course. However, what came next turned out to be comical.

David Gelernter interview from Slate

One reason that people dislike the president is that he expresses racism and misogyny and contempt for other groups of people, and that turns off a lot—

Those are assertions that, to me, are crazy and sound, like, slanderous.

You write in the piece about Trump’s “bluntness, his certainty that America is exceptional, his mistrust of intellectuals, his love of simple ideas that work, and his refusal to believe that men and women are interchangeable.” I assume those are things you like about him, no?

I like every one of them. [But] they’re all completely irrelevant to the question of whether I like him [personally] or not. Liking is a matter of personality. Liking is a matter of … it’s an emotional issue. It’s got nothing to do with what his political opinions are. I admire all sorts of people I don’t especially like, and I like many people whom I radically disagree with. I have to, being a teacher at Yale, which is 99.9 percent leftist in the faculty, not as out of balance as that among the students. But you can’t exist in academia if you’re going to dislike a liberal or a leftist personally. It can’t be done. Or, for that matter, in science and research.

Another very interesting read. Lots of questions and the interviewer is none the wiser...I don't think he learned anything.

This is from a thread I made about Trump hate, posted in March 2016:

There is a hatred for him from both parties. They see the gravy train ending and their curtains falling to the floor to be trampled by the new force that will not be negotiated with...a force that can not be bought or swayed in its simple truth. We want REAL change. Real freedom.

The opposition would fill us with the pessimism that governed past cycles by making it seem impossible to even challenge the establishment, so they joined them and now feel the charge of a heavy conscience and its killing them.

I feel it still applies.

There's a reason why hate is considered the weakest emotion of all.

You hate in others what you secretly hate in yourself. That's why they can't stand him -- he's like a mirror and an uncomfortable reminder of their own insecurities.

I personally do not like Donald Trump, but I support him 100%.

Part of the reason that I support him 100% is that I do agree with his policies, positions and tactics.

A big part of the reason that I support him 100% is because the progressive left has been so stupid in its hate-based resistance to him. As I often say here, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

In a way, that's Donald Trump. I ain't crazy about him, but if supporting him can piss off a bunch of snowflake soyboys, trannies and dykes, YAY!

(Heartfealt apologies to any snowflakes, soyboys, trannies or dykes that I may have offended there.)

Think about this. The NWO Bush 1 and the NWO Bush 2 and the super NWO you did not build that Obama installed and seeded minion after minion who would work for their plans of a one world economy and eventually a one world governing body.. Trump come along and says B.S. I want to make America great again and low and behold, manufacturing jobs are returning even though we were told they would never return. Unemployment is at a record low and onerous regulations which strangled everyone to include businesses are being rewritten or done away with.

All the time and money invested for the NWO is crumbling before their very eyes.. They, the NWO crowd are now saying nationalism is a form of racism.. Tell that to a Marine (or most soldiers) and see what kind of response you get.

The NWO believers are so entrenched in every walk of life and government that we can expect more and louder screaming as their utopian socialist world gets farther and farther from their grasp.

Doing everything to make Trump lose.

Got a "migrant caravan", same stunt they pulled in Germany three years ago.

Pics of women and kids, meanwhile it's highly trained military-aged men.

And how convenient for photo opportunities.

Obviously this is no accident.

The fact that anyone still falls for it surprises me.

Yes, that's true. Their ideology is not applicable to our country, for that reason they want to destroy it and build a socialist nation.

What would you guys think of Trump, if he were...

a president of another country?

Like Russia?
What would you think, as a thought-example, of Trumpski, Making Russia Great Again?

How else should they have come? In a convoy of trucks? Like there are so many rich people over there, or should have Soros paid for some, so that they could have come faster and make a pass over the boarder surprising everyone?
Would have been far more efficient, right?

If they were open about it, yeah.
Because the fact is many of those people did come in air-conditioned buses.

They were only filmed right at border crossings.

But be my guest, take them all.

If they come next by the 100 000 thousands or the millions.

Take them all in this diabolical scam between NGOs and human traffickers.

(..)

And they got First-Class-catering, I know.
Afterwards, they are placed in that new Maglev-train built by Muskyski which connects all the ultra-rich-mansions including their underground harems, so that they can fill up the depleted reserviors for the entertainment of the ultra-rich.

Uhhhhm, having a writers-block right now, just a moment. Ah.

Then, they are carried via personal helicopters to the beaches of Florida so they can "come in via rifts", conveniently placed there by FEMA, so the FEMA can be also included. But there should be more danger, so they have to activate the Hurricane-machines based in the Bermuda-triangle outside their usual cycle, but that is not the big problem, as most of the ultra-rich are already on site their winter-mansions in places you never heard of and that you can never find on any "public" maps.

More?

Nope, this is a terrible resume of why people dont like trump, sorry. It seems to exist simply to allow trump fans to feel superior.

The real reasons are much more varied and complex.

I would never say or do something purposefully and then apologize for it. A clear sign of weakness in all sorts of ways.

Besides this, I can't think of a crowd more deserving to have their feelings hurt.

It's amazing isn't it?

Just recently, there was a thread about why ATS supports Trump, its was an opinion piece by an unhinged, but it really showed that ATS, a conspiracy site, really embraced Tump, why? Because he is anti establishment, anti globalist. A REAL Mcds eating American. Like I said before, he is that douch uncle who means well and embraces tough love.

Cool opinion, but lacks merit in, "the why". You just don't like Trump 😌 deal with not reacting emotionally and you might just get somewheres 😏
