More and more politicians want open borders. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I read some info about the pros and the cons of having a open border and on of the pros were that it would eventually double the GDP. I don't know how reliable that info was but if it is then that is a important fact that should be told.

One of the cons were that there would be more crimes but that will be a easy fix in 10 or so years. 10 years is when nanotechnology comes around in the mainstream. Once most people have nanobots in them the government will be able to track anyone at anytime throwing them in jail if need be.

The problem isn't that mostly Dems want open borders it is that they jumped the gun when technology to handle a massive flow of immigrants is still in the infancy.

I know many people don't want open borders, even I am nervous about it but I believe it is inevitable. It most likely won't happen for decades but Globalization is going to happen and U.S. is at the forefront.

One of the things that makes me doubt Globalization is I truly doubt China and Russia would ever go along with open borders. Imagine if China had open borders before the U.S.? If they did it then we would definitely have to do it.

All I am saying is that good may come from it even though it will completely change the Country. It may not be good in the short term but I think it will be for the betterment of humanity in the long run.

All and all I will prolly be dead by the time open borders happen but it would be cool to see just because it would be an unknown, like Trump was an unknown and look how good that turned out.

I know lots of you hate this idea and tell me why but don't hate it because you think it will destroy America...

It is an adventure to change North America... at least in the beginning, then the world!

Open borders is one of the ways Europe fell to the liberal hordes.

Now they’re trying to bring the same playbook here.

In general do neighbors like their neighbors to have free reins in their yard, Heck no.

That's why there is that saying, fences make good neighbors.

The same is true with countries.

I do see benefits to immigration reform though. I don't think it should be a ten year thousands of dollars process etc..

Hey.

Mind if my family and a few friends come to live in your house? It will be awesome. Most of them will be unemployed so they'll have all of the time in the world to keep you company.

They do have some very specific requirements. Aunt Mary is allergic to nuts, so you can't have any of those around anymore. Cousin Bob has PTSD and likes to sleep with a loaded gun. I'd advise against midnight bathroom breaks. He's a very light sleeper. My friend, Kevin, does lot's of drugs, so it would be great if you went shopping for needles for him every week or so. Susan has five children. Would be great if you helped at diaper and feeding time.

Please U2U your address right away. We'll caravan on over.

Open boarders=end if the U.S.A. I'm totally against it like the Democrats were before Obama's second term. What caused them all to flip idk. But it gets worse every year.

I keep my doors deadbolted and close my gate. I don't see why a country would be any different.

I have seen whole industries decimated by immigrants who work for a lower $'s per hour.

Good to see you're all for your children working for $2 and hour.

I guess it's one way of fighting the competitiveness of the Chinese or Indian labourers.

Our neighbors to the south are not ready for open borders and neither are we. I have spent a considerable amount of time in Mexico. Until government corruption and the drug cartels are eradicated open borders is completely impossible. By the same token we, here in the US need to clean our own house.
We have our own forms of corruption to deal with. As well as a few things that don’t set well with the avarge Catholics of Mexico, like abortion, porn, nudity, and guns.
American tourists don’t always make the best ambassadors for our country.

Our Government would never let minimum wage go that low... Besides robots will take our jobs in less then 20 years, then what? We have to figure a new way to make money besides anything a robot can do better for cheaper.

I hear you - 'cept I lock the gate and keep the doors open (so my pack of ravenous hounds can patrol the yard for snacks).

My driveway is 125 yards long. No need to lock the gate. My dog just lets me know we have visitors, and I pick which long gun to use when I greet them before they can even get out of the car.

I don't like people all that much so no, it's not like people are letting homeless people in their homes. You can still live in your own world it is not like they are making take in people.

We have to somehow make Countries south of the border better somehow so they won't have to getting away from violence excuse.

I would rather annex Mexico under the constitutional laws of the United States.... Stabilize and continue the process South.

I don't see why open borders should be such a big deal in the US.

After all, the whole most powerful country in the world claim, kind of relies entirely on being the most populated first country on earth.

Also... with all those segregated communities, abundant land & resources, plus the lack of free healthcare and workers rights, I think the US is in a perfect position to adopt an open border policy... without the prospect of any reality based negative impacts on society as it stands.

Just my personal opinion...

That is a good idea, we help them because they can't help themselves. That would definitely make life more exciting.

But of course they would think we are taking them over unfortunately.

Cool!
My acreage is in the back where there be coyotes, hogs and the occasional wolf.

Unfortunately, I live "in town" so I don't get to drag the long guns out for visitors.
No too worried about open borders here in North TX, there's a bunch of BETO signs between here and the border and in all the big cities...........
