One alarming notion I've seen on ATS recently is the championing of US Presidents who can control the news narrative.

Hopefully an isolated view; otherwise we may as well burn those history books.

Did I mock your glorious leader, the Stasi behavior that comes with putting up an unrelated posting history or both?

At least now we're talking, what's new with you? Found any WMD's in Iraq by now?

Your childish and historically illiterate attacks on Trump don't bother me in the slightest.
Keep up the division, just like Putin wanted.

The historically illiterate scapegoat suit! I kinda missed it, thanks. Question is, who exactly is divided from the truth here, and why?

Sincerely,

How much of that was really Trump?

Wall Street sure seemed to think so.

Pulling out of the NAFTA was one of Trump's biggest mistakes.. he said so himself.

When? the new deal is far better for ALL parties involved. (and all parties have said so).

The U.S. was already the #1 economy when Trump took office. We still are? yay.. go Trump.

No, it wasn't. The EU had overtaken us.

The truth is that Trump immediately started taking credit for things that were already WELL in motion when he took office. From small things like taking a town from ISIS (that had been largely taken before he took office, and they just finished the job, to record #s of unemployment. It was already low when he took office. Or his taking credit for North Korea, when all he did was PO Kim and bring them to the brink of war with us. North Kroea's nuclear mountain collapsing, and SK working with them, is what is bringing about change. But Trump takes credit for it all.

Wow. Do you actually BELIEVE all of that? Kim has YET to rattle his saber again, and you think that's Obama's doing? LOL.

And no doubt he gets some credit for creating jobs, but many are at the expense of our environment. He has NO regard for our environment, and couldn't care less about pollution, climate change, tainted water.. not his problem. Let the next POTUS deal with the ramifications and fallout from his policies.

So, the EPA is so great (Flint)....yeah. After 30 yrs, the climate change nonsense has still failed to materialize, and yet this drum is constantly beaten. Next POTUS? With the names the Dems have tossed out for 2020, it's likely to still be HIM, lol....

And lastly, 90% of his policies were not clever policy-mongering on Trump's part - it was simply the fallout of his agenda, which was solely to remove anything Obama put into place. Didn't matter if it was a good or a bad policy, or the jury was still out.. if Obama put it into place, Trump was going to remove it. Real 4D chess right there.

And yet you still can't deny it WORKED. And newsflash, that's why we voted for him. Sure, we knew we were getting an ass, and moronic tweets, etc. but we were all more interested in RESULTS.

I'll give him credit for doing a few decent things, but man.. his supporters give him WAY too much credit, while completely ignoring anything he does wrong, and supporting his lies and misdirection at every turn.

Not really. I'll gladly criticize him for us STILL being in Syria. I'll criticize him on his awful record so far of treatment of the LGBTQ community, issues which his wife, as First Lady, included in her arena to champion. I'll also criticize his lack of draining the swamp, and instead, filling it with neo-con chronies.

Many of them aren't even lies. If you start reading through that list, you won't get very far before you find something that's taken out of context or flat out wrong. In their zealousness to make Trump look like an uberliar, they themselves started lying and including things that weren't blatant lies.

And then they whine that no one trusts the media.

You may be right, but I think there were way better candidates than those two. I think if we all just voted for who we thought would really try to help us out, rather than voting party lines we'd be better off as a country.

Although they were all flawed and imperfect and had issues I though Sanders, Green party and libertarian and constitution party candidates were all better than Hillary and Trump.

Are you just kidding with us?

Sanders would have been a total lame duck POTUS. Not to mention his socialist plans and tax strategies would have hamstrung the economy and tanked the market. The other party candidates were the usual total jokes. They too would have been lame ducks with no party support in Congress, and would have basically been seat warmers for 2020.

The only other decent candidates didn't make it through the primaries.

PRESS IGNORE People , this is Not Worth Jack Listening to ANYMORE ........

There was talk of us being laid off in Q3 2016. Management decided to wait and see what Trump would do. Then the Trump taxes got passed.

I'm doing well enough now, what with the raises and bonuses, that I got to buy a brand new reliable car for the first time in my life.

Obama didn't build that for me.

Since Trump was elected I've gotten 2 pay raises and become a home owner, for the first time in my life.

S#, hold on! I just remembered I'm not even from the US.

Guess it was just a random coincidence.

What took you so long to own a home? That was my first priority.

Finally decided to swallow my pride and play the game... I guess.

It certainly had nothing to do with which political ideology was in charge.

If you think so. Typically, political ideology dictates how both sides achieve the same or similar goals, and at what costs. Kinda does matter.

But I suppose it too is possible that you attended the Enlighted1 school of voting..

It also never mattered to Democrats when Bill cheated in the oral office.

Hypocrites.

Unlike you I'm not one and if Trump is having sex in the white house I'll say impeach.

I need a nickname for the Trump supporters on this site. I'm thinking about squirmers since none of you ever address the content of the post and instead try to deflect or use whataboutism because you know you can't intellectually win the debate.

So, let's see what we have here. You are attempting to equate the opinions of some of the worst reporters and celebs with the President of the United States calling the media the enemy of the people? You do realize that there are some real crazy conservative reporters that have said way more idiotic crap right? Instead of covering it all here I will give you a few links. [1][2][3] [4]

What the hell is more idiotic than calling all Trump supporters white supremacists or Nazis?

How do people feel about white supremacists or Nazis? They HATE them. What do people do to people they hate - treat them badly and some resort to violence.

Is any of that true - well there might be a few hundred nazi/white supremacist Trump supporters but to declare a 100 million + people Nazi's / white supremacists literally THOUSANDS of times by hundreds of media outlets over 2 years is beyond outrageous.

How can you be so out of touch with reality to dare post these stupid attack job articles on Sean Hannity and claim moral equivalence. YOU ARE CRAZY if you think there is.

Seriously you think people like to be called a racist or Nazi dozens of times with ZERO f'ng truth to it? You don't think that makes us MAD? It makes me really mad. I am seriously about to start calling every lefty I meet a child molester. Just as much truth to it.

I point this out to explain how shallow and inapt your argument actually is. You can't use the opinions of TV journalists and equate that to the position of the President of the United States. Since he is the President his words hold more power than they would otherwise and calling the press the enemy of the people is something a dictator would say, not a democratically elected leader. Dictators hate the press, because the press holds them accountable. Dictators want to do whatever they want and don't want anyone to call them out if they happen to do something unethical. This is why Trump calls out the press, not because they call his followers nazi's but because he doesn't want them writing truthful but unflattering stories about him.

As for Obama and his treatment of the press. I despised it. I agree that his treatment of the press was incredibly ruthless and also was an attack on the freedom of the press. I hoped that I would never see another president act that way toward the press in my lifetime but unfortunately the next one was worse.

But I suppose that's the difference between the two of us, I have no problems calling out politicians who act unethically regardless of party. I don't blindly defend.

Dictators shut down the press - or replace the press with only approved reporters - they don't call them names. There is nothing dictatorial about Trump's treatment of them at all. In fact the press corp has said many times they have MORE access under the Trump admin than they did under Obama's.

You are living in another universe if you dare call obama's treatment by the press harsh. They gushed over him constantly.
He was on 60 minutes every other month in which they fawned all over him. Trump goes on there and they won't even let him answer a question without interrupting him and calling him a liar.

I have absolutely no problem calling out unethical politicians - there is no proof of Trump acting unethically on the job at all. I WILL attack him big time if something does come up.

Anyone can see most of the stuff you are taking carte blanche as true are simply the kicking and screaming of a MSM designed to push the desired spin, always. The Democrats figure if they throw enough crap eventually some will stick. First Russia, then "Stormy" "Daniels" (a nasty porn star don't ever forget it) leveled her accusations, now the bombs.

Writing is on the wall.

You have been here quite a while, now, no doubt.
I have similar questions.
Sorry to be harsh, but a simple stroll thru your threads (as well as other members threads) over the years should answer the very questions you ask.
My thought is you aren’t actually concerned with the truth.
