you had her take it off....

just wow

do you control everything she does? Does she let you?

That would be the day my husband made me do anything I did not want to do or stop me from doing what I want... like wear a pussy hat.
But then again he knows he is married to a person able to think for herself and the results if he attempts to control me.

This could also be a sign you don't respect your husband or consider his advice...

Personally my wife and I save each other from all kinds of embarrassing things,..but then again we are friends.

I had to google 'pussyhat' never seen one in my parts, I'd have assumed a fashion thing if I had, it's not a cause I was aware of before now.
Would people really be angry about hats promoting female rights?
That's nuts.

I think he was joking, to make a point to the op etc.

anyways ..

I don't think anyone should be harassed or fear violence for anything they wear or how they look, it's silly! but is certainly not isolated to Trump supporters, that's for sure!

Would you give dirty looks to someone with a socialist shirt or hat on? a pussy hat? hell anything that doesn't fit your world view? it's all the same # in the end, never ever one sided!

I get funny looks because I have a few piercings in my face, I just don't care, I cant control others reactions, I can call it what it is though!

Am I wrong to fear for his safety?

No.

Was I wrong to express my concerns?

No.

What's wrong is that today we live in a country where simply disagreeing over politics is an invitation to physical attack. That is what third-world nations do. That is what, if rumors are to be believed, caused the death of Jamal Khashoggi.

Everyone, please. Let that sink in for just a moment. We are no better than Saudi Arabia.

We are no better than the country where homosexuality is a capital offense... a country that kills homosexuals for being homosexual. We are no better than a country that limits women to second-class citizenship. We are no better than the country of origin of the 911 terrorists.

Why? Because we disagree on how good or bad the President is? Is that really worth it?

Be careful, IAMTAT. Watch out for your son. I'm sorry you have to live in such a country.

Interesting that you put this in the mud pit ...

I told my teen daughter she better not ever protest in public, because she might get run over by someone who disagrees with her if she happens to be crossing the street while protesting. Am I wrong for wanting to remove her 1st amendment right to peacefully assemble?

I’ve also tried to keep her from going to places with large crowds, because of the fear of some nut with a gun shooting up the place. She’s been home schooled, so I didn’t have to worry about the school mass shooter, but she’s starting to take classes at the local community college, so now I have to worry about her getting shot to pieces there...

Quoting this because everybody should read it, (if they can come down from their crosses long enough.)

I thought it was rather odd that feminists would choose a pussy as a symbol of their cause when the whole point of their cause is that they are more than a pussy.

Nothing say "respect me" more than a large vagina on your head.

People being killed for expressing their political beliefs is not just a contemporaneous situation and dates back to before the founding.

Funny looks and being attacked are two entirely different things. I give my son-in-law funny looks because he wears an earring. I'm not going to fight him over it.

If we don't separate expressing disgust or disagreement with physical attack, we are lost. Please don't be lost.

Sounds like actual tangible parental fear.

Thing is with the number of mass shootings and political split going around they might actually have real basis for such fears.

Then again Americas a big place, chances are their daughter will be just fine.

Love the conclusions people jump to.

Yeah silly. I forced her and beat her.
What the hell is your problem

Luthier, you get it.

Maybe it was an attempt of irony or something? Crazy if just wearing one results in aggression from other people though.

No, you’re not wrong. We’ve all seen the evidence. Words, symbols and clothing are their ultimate fear. It means they have scary thoughts when they see it, and they’d much rather tear apart where it comes from rather than grow a thicker skin.

Yes
Cause it's not their side

Not outside the realm of possibility that some right wing asshole would start # with us for it.

Just like the maga hat

Not outside the realm of possibility that some dickhead leftie would start # over someone wearing that hat.

Its what things have turned into.

Look how people react to #.

I simply said I had her take it off. Look how silly responds.
They react how they want to.

She goes right to I force her and I'm an Asshole blah blah.

People suck man

I do find it ironic.
But I dont remember anyone being attacked for wearing one. Laughed at but not assaulted.

It might have happened

This whole discussion reminds me of the debate around hoodies that Geraldo Rivera brought up:

“But I am urging the parents of black and Latino youngsters particularly to not let their children go out wearing hoodies,” Rivera insisted.

(for fear of being racially profiled or shot.)
www.huffingtonpost.com...

I don't think this is a particularly new phenomenon. Though it IS a shame. Nobody should be harassed or worse for the way they are dressed.

When a woman comes up and starts giving you spit just tell her your married and not paying $20 for a BJ and keep repeating it. They just lose it. And if a man type lib says anything just keep repeating to go away your straight!

It works
