November 11th is quite the significant date to begin with, so is this some sort of a prelude to the big event or what ? I'm quite annoyed by all the cryptic messages I receive at times..not to say I'm not also appreciative.

It's not like I haven't asked for clarity from outside sources either, but nothing has been revealed to me as to the true meaning behind it. Even last night once again I felt compelled to look at my clock at exactly 9:11.

I don't mean to derail the thread but I had a very similar dream about a month ago, there were jets flying everywhere. They looked like Tomcats with closed wings, but I knew they cant be fighters because some of them were flying/hovering with their nose up towards the sky, kinda like standing. I was in a building I grew up in, looking out of the window, then saw people running and hiding because these jets started to shooting at them...

That is certainly an interesting coincidence, if anyone else has had a similar dream maybe there could be a thread made to discuss the correlations.

I've had one dream where I was confronted by what I can only describe as a very large mechanized suit of armor, it descended from the sky and that was about it for the dream.

Well, it's always a good idea to be stocked up for disaster. My pantries and freezers are almost full. My propane tank will be filled tomorrow and I have enough firewood to last the winter.

For those of us raised by people who were just starting out adult life during the Great Depression, it was a way of life---being prepared for a rainy day or a stormy day or an icy day or week. It's just common sense.

If rice is what one wants to eat when disaster strikes, by all means, they should stock up on rice. That wouldn't be my preference so I've planned accordingly.

We may or may not be devastated by some disaster in the next few months. Chances are that some portion of the population will be hit by a disaster, natural or man-made. As others have pointed out, it's a "Not if, but when" situation. If it takes doom porn to get people to become at least a bit more prepared, I say bring it on!

If I am prepared for a disaster, I'm going to be more likely to help others who need help in the wake of the disaster.

Well, since I tend to flip out when they run out of my favorite cereal....I figure it can't hurt to have basics like extra water, Spam, Rice, etc

At our house, since we're "retired" backpackers....(the old knees can't handle the backpack any longer....) we still have the gear: the filters for making sure we always have clean water......the cook stove, freeze dried food, etc. We have an escape plan, tent, etc. Just last night I asked the hubs if we could get one of those radios like was on the movie Contact, (sorry, I take a medication for epilepsy that makes me forget words....so...) so in case the internet goes out I can still communicate with people through out the world.......hey, I might be a tin foil hat wearer....but you just never know!!!!

My wedding anniversary is November 11th......we will be married 18 years this year........maybe our anniversary evening will be a real BANGER this year a reply to: UnBreakable

things which are large hit the moon quite often and youtube has never been shut down because of it !

Very well stated, and also the video that has been going around of the moon being hit, it is from a few years ago.

I'd thought maybe this guy had something more to say but it seems as though this was quick to be wrapped up into nothingness.

If someone really thinks that the video from the other day showing a massive explosion on the moon, The size of which would have ejected enough debris that we would already be seeing the effects in terms of meteor showers the likes of which have never been witnessed by humanity, they need to check on their logic centers. The fact that just as they zoomed in on the moon is right when the event happened is very very suspect. I would say we are more likely to experience an EMP than we are a massive moon impact. Again if something huge like an lunar impact occurred, where is the debris??

Your post is certainly a little bit messy, although you make some good points. I kind of question however if you could clarify your belief that money buys knowledge. I've gotten a vast amount of knowledge over the years, and it certainly didn't come from a monetary investment.

Much like in alchemy, the secret isnt how to turn base metal into gold, it's how to turn a basic person into a God. Un initiated or not, we will all likely end up at the same junction, this I can wholly agree with you on.

Fortunately, I have the knowledge---gained over my almost 65 years of life---to hunt, to fish and to grow or collect food. My children have that same knowledge passed from my grandparents and parents. We have advantages that our ancestors didn't have, like propane generators, solar power and water filters. I spent a goodly number of years sitting on "readiness" committees and coordinating plans for various disaster scenarios. Knowing your local community is a big part of survival in a disaster situation.

Our plans have only been put to the test once in recent years and only for a short time when an ice storm hit the area and knocked out all power to the county for about two weeks. As a result I'm very aware that a lot of people won't be prepared because I fed a lot of those people during that storm. Fire/rescue and sheriff's personnel knew that if they were in my neighborhood they could get something hot to eat and get their thermos refilled at my house. They could also charge up their phones if they needed it.

I'm not deluding myself that I can make a one-woman stand against the world but I can be prepared to help myself and some other folks who may not have the advantages I've had. Survival during disasters is a community effort when you live in a community. If you live in a bunker in the woods it may be a different story but my choice is to be a part of the community and to help my fellow citizens if it is within my power to do so. I can tell you from experience that people do not forget and most of them learn some valuable lessons from surviving such disasters. There were certain members of my family who thought we were just a bit on the nutso side of life when they were hauling in the huge cabinets I bought to hold my supplies. Their minds were changed when they were able to come here and have a hot meal and get their e-gadgets charged up because we were the only house in the neighborhood who had water, power and a working landline. (Yeah, the back-up batteries in the cell towers only last about 48 hours so there was no cell service.)

As I said in the earlier post, to me being prepared, having at least six months to a year's worth of food is just a way of life for those of us who were raised by parents who endured the Great Depression. We grow gardens and collect wild food and preserve and store it. We go to the Amish store and buy our staples in bulk and store them for that certain "rainy day" that we know will appear. We do this so we don't have to eat dehydrated food when those days come. It's not rocket science, it's common sense.
