Does anyone know why they are carvanning to the U.S.?

Are they fleeing a horrible regime, are they being persecuted for their beliefs, do they all face unjust incarceration by corrupt officials?

I mean, if things are so bad from whence they are fleeing, why would they proudly display the flag of said despotic government?

Am I missing something?

You sound unhinged. Maybe you're due for a Cruise?

What part is a hoax? The video? The caravan? Inquiry into who might be funding it?

Sounds like you just want everyone to stop discussing the topic.

You sound like you know this video is not what was claimed but you can't bring yourself to admit it so now you're just saying whatever random # that comes to mind to deflect. I'm actually going on vacation next month and I don't do cruises. Not my thing.

No. The caravan is real. The video is real. The claim about what the video shows is a straight up hoax. It's not from Honduras and it does not show people being paid to join the caravan.

Sounds like you just want everyone to stop discussing the topic.

No. What I want is for you to summon the character to admit that you were duped. But it doesn't look like you're going to be able to do that and that's fine. Honestly, I've got work to do and I'm not really inspired to waste anymore time on this.

Have fun.

What a "racist" concept. To think citizens of Guatemala are OK with foreign nationals illegally entering their country is a flawed assumption. It is no different than implying all Americans are OK with illegal immigration simply because some Americans are too "PC" to speak out against those who ignore our sovereign borders, the will of our people or our laws.

I am sure the people of Guatemala have enough Guatemalans to take care of. Then they can start worrying about the citizens of Honduras, etc. Know whos job it is to take care of them? The government/people of Honduras. And if the government of Honduras isn't doing its job, it is the Honduran people's duty to abolish said government and create one that does work. No where is that our problem, however. (although a pro-US faction could easily get U.S. support)

Hey, you can't expect us to keep cleaning up after South American socialism and the century of destruction left in its wake. From Cuba to Venezuela to Boliva (sorry, ""Brazil"") - Bolivar socialism has wrecked SA. And don't expect us to clean up their messes or put out their fires - they are on their own.

It is irrelevant. Illegal immigration is never OK, for any reason. Lawful asylum claims are different, but do not apply to those fleeing crime/non-state violence and persecution. Our asylum laws do not allow foreign nationals protection under the US flag unless they meet very specific asylum criteria.

And since their stated intention is to enter the US illegally, even conspiring with domestic actors to further their conspiracy, there is no reason to believe the words they are saying. Their actions, and the mass groups that continually violate our sovereignty, speak louder than any words ever could.

This is an outright invasion of the United States of America. The President is right to treat this as a military/national security emergency.

You guys are free to treat your countries however you want to. If you want to be part of some supra-national kumbya commune, again more power to you. But we are a sovereign nation. A country. We are the United States of America. We are not Canada. We are not Mexico. We are not Europe. We do not desire to be like those places, either. And a country has borders that is must maintain to continue existing as a sovereign, individual, independent, non-global nation-state (that just so happens to dwarf the rest of the World, militarily/technologically/scientifically/economically/etc)

At this point they cant claim asylum. They have already crossed multiple countries they could have stopped and claimed asylum in. Not a single one will be able to claim asylum if they make it to the US.

I have a feeling the Mexican Federal Police they flew in to the border are going to turn them around and take one for the team on this....that way the dems lose and Trump doesnt get a bad rap out of it since Mexico will be the ones stopping them.

You make an excellent point Vasa

I missed that entirely, glad to see that fact wasn't lost on all of us!

Very relevant & accurate analysis

Edit: I will be happy if the Mexican Feds stop them. It is as much of an invasion of Mexico's borders (despite what their liberal leftist President claims) as it would be against ours

If needed, this invasion should be stopped by attack aircraft flying sorties until they disperse or no one is left.

It's needed!!!! Scramble the B-52s and carpet bomb the hell out of them.

Of course it's for real! After the aircraft finish their bombing runs you send in the Marines on a bayonet charge since who the eff wants to patch them up once we blow them up, right? A little stabby-stab never hurt no one.

Guatemala isn't in South America, it's in Central American, and in 1954 we overthrew the legally elected leader and installed a series of right wing dictators that lasted for decades. We also backed the Contras in Honduras if you forgot about that one too or your school failed to educate you on the matter.

So a few hundred of the caravan that broke away from the "peloton" have made it to the Mexico border.

Unfortunately for them Mexico has already issued a statement....

Mexico already has sent police to the border to meet the migrants and have said anyone with travel documents and the correct visa will be allowed to pass, while some others in the group can apply for refugee status. But officials also cautioned that those who try to cross in an “irregular manner” could be detained and deported, according to the Associated Press.

It appears the ONLY choice any of these folks in the caravan are going to have is either be deported or apply for refugee status in Mexico. If they deny applying then they will be deported.

I believe Mexico is going to squash this caravan before it gets anywhere close to the US.

At least Mexico appears to be doing their part to help curb this idiotic BS.

What are you talking about?

I don't assume that all of the citizens of any country share a single opinion on anything but you sure do seem to think that *your* opinion is the "will of the people."

What is undeniable is that many in Guatemala have come out to offer assistance. And it's very "racist" of you to claim that they're all hysterical reactionaries like yourself. I guess?

Hey, you can't expect us to keep cleaning up after South American socialism and the century of destruction left in its wake. Guess what isn't in South America? Honduras. Neither is Guatemala. And it would seem that not only are you off on your geography, but there's a pronounced gap in your knowledge of history. Guatemala and Honduras are literally the archetypes of the "Banana Republic" and our bloody fingerprints are all over their histories. Are you completely unfamiliar with UFC, Dulles brothers, Gen. Christmas, etc? We literally overthrew the governments of both to benefit American corporations and installed a secession of juntas friendly to our interests.

And you blabber about "globalists" and "sovereignty." Jesus.

And since their stated intention is to enter the US illegally, even conspiring with domestic actors to further their conspiracy, there is no reason to believe the words they are saying. Their actions, and the mass groups that continually violate our sovereignty, speak louder than any words ever could.

You got a source for that because I think you made it up. Of the hundreds (out of what, 1,200?) from the last "caravan" that made it all the way to the border, most of them ended up camped out with nothing on the Mexican side, for weeks, while a trickle were processed.

This is an outright invasion of the United States of America. The President is right to treat this as a military/national security emergency.

No, that's just you being hysterical.

You guys are free to treat your countries however you want to.

I'm American. This is my country. You do not speak for me.

"First" caravan was 1600 'from the starting line'.

From Honduras too.

The place Obama & Hillary helped over-throw the government there in 2009 assisting an corrupt drug runner crony type to take power. Thus further destabilizing the place setting the stage for it to be ground zero to launch these caravans from against their political enem(ies).

Isn't ironic that in Honduras the party that has the most control is the "liberal party?..." Yet, despite the fact that Liberal/socialist policies have proven not to work, leftists in the U.S. want these floods of people because as a majority, they still believe the claim that "socialism is the answer..." Yet look at what all those left-wing/Liberal/socialist policies dominating countries like Honduras are going through... The left in the U.S. will never give up until the U.S. is turned into one of these "liberal/socialist" countries from which people are trying to escape...
