See, in shared apartment complexes, you are not supposed to allow access to people who do not live there or are not accompanied by someone who lives there. It is the duty of every tenant to follow those simple rules. Else, someone gets let in that should not be there and bad things happen.

In this case, once he showed his key fob/card, and proved it worked in the door, she should have backed off. I have, in past even pulled the door closed while explaining to them why I was doing that. They usually get pissed, but too bad. I'm not going to be the one to let someone in, have them rob or hurt someone in the building, only to find I was the one that allowed that to happen. Then, I could be tossed out of the building and lose my residence.

However, if the person either proved they have access via key/card, then come on in, and I will hold the door for you.

I have my doubts as well. Internet tuff guy at that. I used to be an apartment dweller and not once did I question anyone coming or going. The thought never crossed my mind. I guess if they tried going into my apartment I would. Or maybe if I was a cop on the wrong floor and some random black guy happened to be in my apartment on the 4th floor instead of the 6th.. Wait, I am babbling now..

I have a bad temper that rarely rears it's head but I don't think I could have been as calm during an harassment like this, or the aftermath. I like this young man, he is a truly an inspiration for all of us. People can only get to you if you allow them!

Something seemed off about that interaction. First, if she was scared of the guy, why did she get on elevator with him? What woman gets on an elevator alone with a guy she supposedly is frightened by?

This is pretty standard practice in college residence halls and in apartment complexes. They constantly warn people not to let in people unless you know them and they've come to visit you or they can prove residency. They also warn you that your guests are your responsibility, including their behavior.

Some cops are just plain d***s. It doesn't matter to them what you look like.

We were driving home later one evening when we were in college, and we were on a back road highway because that's you get from Lincoln to Manhattan. Teikiatsu is a terrible night driver, and this car came up behind us and tailgated us and slowly pushed him up over the limit that way. Then they turned on their lights and pulled us over for speeding.

We could see them laughing in our rearview as they prepared to write out our ticket. They knew full well we hadn't been speeding and that they'd harassed us, but technically, they'd caught us going over the limit.

History goes round and round, once upon our history the new world was half Portuguese and half Spanish, and well maybe this is the result of the damage we have been doing for over 500 years, but at leats we dont hate each other we know that portuguese people is mixed with Africa, Nordic countries, India,... So there is a lot of colour here and everyone has the same rights, there are no protests about i have more rights due to the color of my skin, we know where we came from. We know the damage we caused, today we receive daily people from the Portuguese speaking countries in Africa and provide them nationality, cause guess what we totaly ducked their country for centuries, but we dont try to hide it.
