No arrest, no charges, no identity for us to base any conclusion upon, yet already this thread has extrapolated without a doubt that this incident is part of a vast leftwing hate campaign

I concede your point.

This incident may not be a part of the vast leftwing hate campaign.

Which is absolutely real and in your face and a disturbing fact of the political climate.

Yep. Could just as easily be a personal incident unconnected to politics at all.

Gotta believe survivors, brah

he probably feared for his life

this might hurt his future, i mean i wouldn't be surprised if he is now afraid to fly. Also, he could be afraid of getting assaulted again and put a 2nd front door on his house

It very well could be that too. Which is why I peppered my post with "if"....since we know nothing yet about the details or motives. It could be a case of someone getting miffed at him for cutting in front of them in a queue.

Where I am from, thats a shoot a mofo in the face type situation.

You want to attack, don't be a bitch when it's reversed.

Nobody likes a whiny hypocritical bitch.

“Think how we think or we’ll attack you”

The very definition of fascism

This is ridiculous. This type of behavior has no place in our country. This is how children act, not adults.

I really do feel bad for what I am about to post but since he is ok I'm going to do it anyway because it's too dang funny.

Mekeland said the man gave no immediate indication of political leanings but that remarks the man made as he attacked Mekeland suggested a political motivation.

I just visualize the guy punching him over and over saying "I'm a democrat you f###ing Trump lover". Yep, that led me to believe it was politically motivated officer.

From the article in the OP:

"It was a typical politically charged statement — not necessarily one way or the other, just a statement in general," said Mekeland, who declined to elaborate. "But it was in reference to politicians not caring about the middle class."

So, it seems it was politically motivated, but not a partisan attack. Just an attack on "politicians" in general....and he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That sounds to me like the attacker was simply an ignorant mouth breather that needed an outlet for his frustration. And, being so ignorant, expressed his frustration in the only way he knew how....physical intimidation.

And, with the current political climate of leaders in the Democratic party not only condoning but encouraging this behavior, I am not surprised it could have affected this mans limited intellectual abilities.

With our current state of society one must be ready to defend themselves until the death. Use your heads and try to have witnesses or in a place with cameras (this will help you in court) but don't count on it.

If you have to run do it. Don't be brave unless someone you care about is in danger. Or just go Viking.

Be safe fam!

I don't think he is tough enough for the position.

If you can't defend yourself, I sure as hell don't want you defending me.

I have been blindsided before and was blasted without knowing I was to be hit. I am sure it was a concussion, I saw stars.

I had just got kicked off the middle school football team for defending myself from the other kid and I had my head down since he started it. That kid was being escorted off the team also but several steps behind me and I didn't expect it with everyone watching. We had a riot the next day at school while I was suspended. I suspect it was over my situation it was started by the other kids friends. That was Thursday and Friday. On Monday while still at home suspended, the school was locked down and the chains and knives were confiscated and juvenile detention meted out for the perp's.

I went to a different HS than them on purpose and joined the Wrestling team and was a fairly promising prospect. Even though I went on to be a Scientist I spent a year on the Wrestling team at the Uni learning I wasn't any good against that talent level and also how to really defend myself. 1st time I needed it I was jumped by someone who didn't understand wrestling. When he punched me and pulled a knife after calling me f***t gay in a really dumb move, I took him out super fast. I panicked and hurt him bad over that knife. I let him keep it since he couldn't move at all. His buddies drug him back to the car and I realized i didn't waste my time learning to defend myself.

So, I know it is hard if you don't get a chance. Even people who can fight well get clocked sometimes.

If I were to believe the comments in this thread I would think the Nazi party is 1 step away from total control and tyranny and Jewish people are being taken by train to death camps

Oh that just might be coming soon if the left keeps up that re-education line of thinking for their "enemies". Those of us Right of that crowd wants less government not more.

We also have this, seemingly over looked within the context if the link...

"Mekeland said Monday that law enforcement told him the suspect admitted to attacking Mekeland unprovoked and said authorities were awaiting medical reports and surveillance footage." Et al.

So, we admission and review for us to see later. Developing story.

Before we jump to conclusions, we should wait for the investigation to reveal what really happened. I for one am not a person to simply believe someone's story outright. However, if it is found to be a true account, and a suspect is known, then there is a chance this person could be tried as a domestic terrorist. By definition, assaulting someone for political motives (regardless of affiliation) to affect a political change is terrorism.
