Sounds like mexican gangbangers doing mexican gangbanger #.

get all that from their names or what?
or did being low by the border give you a big clue??

I guess they could be doctors or lawyers right?

Here in Texas, 38% of our citizens (legal, 4th and 5th and 6th generation Texans) have Hispanic surnames. That's over 1/3 of the people in the state. And yes, I know two different Hispanic lawyers and several physicians who have Hispanic surnames here in the Dallas area.

So let's not hop to conclusions, eh?

Do your doctor and lawyer friends frequently mow down birthday parties?

Trump is so divisive I'm not sure how you can qualify him as a good leader.

Indeed, that's why I was struggling with the comparison of Trump and Churchill.

A leader should at the very least be wise and diplomatic. At least previous presidents came off as professional Bull# artists.

I think you are confusing "leaders" with "decent human beings."

The fact that previous Presidents were professional bull# artists should be a clue to the difference, as would an enlistment.

Well if you read the tittle of your thread then there's your answer. Now how many people when going to a toddlers birthday party think to bring a gun? Maybe he the shooter was afraid them 2 year olds would jack his ride? They don't call it the terrible two's for nothing you know.

Me thinks there was more more going on there then is said, or even implied. But you could be right, if we banned guns then they would have just stabbed each other, then we would have gotten to the bottom of this mess faster. Because nobody is running away or getting far after being in a knife fight, even the winners usually bleed out some few yards away. So the cops would track them down much quicker, just follow the blood trail.

Rather than address "gun violence", broaden your terminology to just "violence".

What curtails violence, in general?

Any number of things, actually.

Most of us can come up with any number of things that actually work. To just say "gun violence", you are, in part, blaming the tool.

Take the tool away. Otherwise, we might as well talk about "pool cue violence"--I've been hit more often with cuesticks wielded with evil intent than I've ever been shot...or even shot at--both of which has never happened.

ETA: A question just occurred to me, would anyone have posted this if it had been knives, or even the aforementioned pool cues??

The people don't want to listen to solutions or find solutions I should say, as you already know as soon as you mention anything about guns people's minds just shut down and go into defense mode, they are so conditioned to defend their stance it's like a default setting.

It's bizarre, as you clearly state in your op you don't want to take guns away yet look how many posters accuse you of doing just that.

Correct. Nobody reads are actually wants to talk about. Got mods and fsme folk saying the same #.

It is next to impossible to have a discussion these days on this site.
Kind of a bummer.

I think its because guns make killing another person or people less personal, theres quite a large difference between some guys going into a kids party and stabbing people than it is shooting through the windows from outside then running away or driving off, hell they don't even need to get out of the car. I think its the cowardly aspect that draws the criticisms to guns.

You never answered my response way back at the top of page 5. I thought it was a decent response.

Maybe you didn't?

You answered your own questions.

Hard to continue a discussion if agreement equals silence.

How do we fix that?

Stop putting it on me.

If you must put it on someone put it on all the people claiming I said # I didn't or claiming I support banning guns when I don't.
Or posting nothing but a stupid meme.

Excuse me for dropping off after multiple pages of that.

But why would I expect you put it on any of them? They're all your buds.

It is very clear that most don't want to discuss this or damn near anything.
I've long thought that many who claim to want violence to stop really don't.

I see these people in other threads saying they pray for antifa for example to come to their town to start #?
Why could that be?
Bot to sit down and have a discussion that's for sure.

Did you read through 5 pages of people lying about what I said? I was very clear I don't support taking guns yet for multiple pages that's what people claimed.

Stop putting what on you? I was trying to have a civil productive conversation. I thought you made a good thread.

Yes, I did. And yes I saw that. That wasn't me. Neither was it ketsuko.

I did see where you were lamenting about how difficult it is to have a decent discussion. Well, here you have two people willing to have a decent discussion, but you are tossing them aside to complain about some who don't. So I guess you're right: we can't have a decent discussion, because you are more interested in complaining that someone posts garbage.

Oh, well... I tried. You can go back to your complaining now. Sorry to have bothered you.

I would start with country wide regulations.
Not state by state.

You cannot have one state where its extremely hard to purchase a gun, then in the next one over very easy.

Guns are coming from lax states and open borders
