I can't really tell if this is live or not. I think it is? Because I'm seeing live comments

Facebook feed

David Rosenthall is making an attempt to arrest Sheriff Israel. Apparently Facebook took down the feed at one point and now it's back up. They're waiting for an escort. Apparently they attempted this once before. I'm still trying to piece together exactly what's going on.

Edit: I think they failed.

Is there a warrant out for his arrest? I think that might have made the news somewhere if that was the case.

If not, I'm not sure what the goal might have been for this other than a few minutes of fame.

Silly soveirgns are going to get hurt if they keep trying to play these games, they’re already a joke to the law enforcement community the more they keep this up the harder things will get on them IMO.

...and what, pray, do they intend to do with him, once arrested??

No outstanding warrants.

Edit: I think they failed.

Unsurprisingly.

If the people want poor and possibly corrupt leadership as sheriff then that is their choice.

IIRC BCSO has a deputy working for them that worked for/was associated with/is associated with CAIR, which is supposed to have ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Dude trying to make the arrest says that's treason yadda yadda

I.e. someone doesn’t like the department and went looking for dirt on them and that’s the best they could come up with....

Oh, well...

That certainly explains it. Guilt by association...assuming for the moment, that that is even true, of course. With these class of idiot...there's no telling what they read/saw, and immediately jumped to Islam.

Yes, in Broward County and across the land, we have the government we deserve.

I'm from the UK so can someone enlighten me because I thought the Sheriff was voted on by the community. Now if that's the case just vote him off.

That’s the way the logical type would go about it, the sovereigns live in their own little world.

Not that there aren't reasons to dislike this sheriff but yeah that is pretty weak.

I guess some people don't want to wait until the next election?

There's likely some legal process to get rid of him otherwise, but this definitely isn't it lol

I’m not singing his praises I don’t know anything about the guy but I do know the attempt to citizen arrest him over such a flimsy pretext is laughable at best.

Israel is the Sheriff of Broward County that worked with the Broward County school board to go soft on students who displayed violent or delinquent behavior.

Here's a pretty decent summary of the whole tangled web.

I dunno why I just kind of assumed everyone here knew who Israel was.

It's very possible if they had done their job, Nicholas Cruz would've had red flags in the NICS and wouldn't have been able to legally purchase a gun.

While I can't imagine it being a good idea, any citizen in the United States can make a lawful arrest without a warrant. Any person may arrest another individual for crimes committed in their presence or for felonies committed outside of their presence. While legal in most countries it can lead to legal issues for those making the arrest.

Those legal issues can include, kidnapping, unlawful confinement, and false arrest. Attempting to arrest the local Sheriff is a whole other level of stupid but legal. Any responding officers would complete the arrest upon sworn complaints but those charging parties do not have immunity like normal LEO's. They better have their ducks in a row but I suspects as others have pointed out, this is for publicity and will amount to nothing.

Perhaps I’m reading it wrong but it sounds like all the guy did wrong was go along with a policy being pushed by people higher up than him so everyone got better funding, to claim he’s complicit to the crime is disingenuous IMO he was one of the lowest on the totem pole. Was what the school, local, and federal government right in there actions? I’d say no but to pin it on the sherif is missing the point IMO. Correct me if I’m missing something.

He's running for Sheriff

It's either a campaign stunt or he's just a loon, or both. I suspect he will not be elected.

He's just another bigoted idiot who thinks all Muslims are terrorists. I'm sure he's surrounding himself with like minded people.

It is funny to watch though.
