Just over 3 weeks until the midterms. The propaganda, posturing and campaigning should rev up until then. That won't be nearly as interesting as the vitriol, gloating and calls of electoral impropriety that will follow. It all depends on the outcome as to who will be doing what. Isn't that going to be fun?

Short rant that probably could have gone into the "Predictions" forum. Well it's a pretty safe prediction.

As a German, I have a much higher anticipation for the Bayernwahl, which takes place this sunday.

It might become a milestone in German history if and when the CSU loses their ancestral and eternal majority in Bavaria!

This will be fun

And then after the midterms, starts the two year long political battle for 2020.......

Yeah. It's never ending. Just the volume and the manner changes. It's like the tides. Inevitable. Sad.

My prediction...

Whoever wins, we get more silly news stories that mask important ones.

Day to day life for Americans goes mostly unchanged, as always.

Cue in "this is the most important midterm election ever".

It will be enjoyed by some.

Question is, does it take some of the fun out of it... or make it more fun.

It's been more or less legal for a long time. It's not going to change much.

We almost don’t have enough population to have much news, so our news shows, show a lot of American news.....

But when we do have elections, they’re announced and over with in a very short time ....

I just want it to be over with so that we get a 6-week reprieve and then it's back to a bunch of idiots campaigning against how bad the other person is instead of for something.

We've got it here. Just follow the Toronto Sun and TO Star. It's easily ignored. Most do with the exception of the month or so before and after the elections.

With all of the laws concerning politicking and campaigning, you (well, I) would think that we should add in there a time limit on campaigning--say, maybe limit it to six month, but putting now dates on when those six months could occur. Maybe split it up in semi-monthly campaigning, or do a heavy six-month campaign right before the election, or whatever.

This would extend to PACs, too.

Just thinking out loud, and I'm sure that it's not a new idea.
