Your 2 million Irish deaths is rubbish and the British didn't starve them to death, granted we didn't do much to help.

his was not an artificial famine as the traditional Irish nationalist interpretation has long maintained - not at any rate at the start. The original gross deficiency of food was real. In 1846 and successive years blight destroyed the crop that had previously provided approximately 60 per cent of the nation's food needs. The food gap created by the loss of the potato in the late 1840s was so enormous that it could not have been filled, even if all the Irish grain exported in those years had been retained in the country. In fact, far more grain entered Ireland from abroad in the late 1840s than was exported-probably almost three times as much grain and meal came in as went out.

History of the Irish famine.

Also your 4.5 million Bengali deaths is rubbish, the estimates are between 1 and 4 million with no definite proof and Churchill was at fault for his burnt earth policy because he thought India would be invaded.

I doubt any other nation on earth has as much blood on it's hands as the British. They even outdone Hitler and Stalin combined ffs.

You really hate the British that much, there are plenty that have throughout history but of course Britian is the Earths satan!!

Agreed, and whoever decided to make this all about the IRA. As usual, they bring only one position: vilifying Republicans while simultaneously ignoring the fact that the Brits committed unspeakable atrocities against civilians men women and children

I think history will judge the Citizens of Ireland kindly. Especially as more information comes to light, highlighting the British crown's authoritarian brutality. The exact same bullsnip American colonists faced in the new world under King George's repressive rule

Cheers to you And to freedom/self determination and Republicanism

The IRA are murdering scumbags, #ing cowards.
Anyone who glorifies indiscriminate killing of women, children and old people deserves the karma that is surely coming their way

To be fair though, they did wonders for the domestic balaclava trade.

Re the ira, you can take a tabloid position of them all being evil, or all Brits being evil...doesn't make you right though.
For many years voting meant zilch so they did what they could.
The real war was against the Whitehall millionaires, but as always the pbi paid the price.

With the exception of actual sociopaths and such, most human beings will find out growing up in a culture what is right and what is wrong, within the guidelines of that culture.

Nobody needs Christianity to do that.

What on earth have white supremacists got to do with any of this?

That is a stretch for even the most ardent pro-Islamic extremist apologist?

Please try and explain that.

You didn't get the memo.

If you are white and not a pro-islamic extremist apologist, then you are a white supremacist.

So it's ok to blow you up.

You brought the IRA into this discussion.

You and your support for a Socialist group of gangster terrorists!

An American conservative republican supporting socialist terrorists aligned to Muslim extremist terrorists....you really couldn't make it up!

I guess as long as it plays to the anti-English bigotry and hatred that seems to be acceptable that's ok regardless of the contradictions, hypocrisy and double standards its all ok.

When you get that explanation, do let me know, won't you??

IRA were, and still are, I suppose, thugs. They can call themselves whatever they want...their actions brand them.

Thank you.

Someone who see's it for what it is.

I just can't get over how someone who is supposedly so passionately conservative and an alleged 'libertarian' can support an openly Socialist and pro-Islamic extremist terrorist organisation that indiscriminately killed innocent people whilst brutalising their own communities and extorting them all in the name of money just like gangsters and shysters the world over.

I honestly can't see any other explanation other than blatant anti-English and anti-British bigotry.

Perhaps you can help me understand some of your countrymen?

A lot of the poor wee souls don't look old enough to buy Call of Duty nevermind goto war and play with automatic weaponry.

Fact is they are "giving it" for the bankers and corporations a hell of a lot more than for their country.

Should they be housed and provided for when they return from service and back to the UK? Of course they should, but so should everyone that requires such.

Truth is the bankers, corporations, and politicians, whos spoils of war they fought to ensure don't give a crap, because it's not they are short of new cannon fodder so they will simply do as they wish.

Our army leaders pander to the military industrial complex, politicians, and bankers.

What's wrong with the IRA? Can't blame Republicans (even socialist Republicans) from resisting oppressive foreign government rule. I'd personally never tolerate foreign soldiers on US soil let alone rule by their non-American government. That, to me at least, is a natural and expected human reaction to oppression.

I'll proudly say I supported the IRA against Britain for as long as I can remember. Then again, us Republicans/Libertarians stick together. We stick together far better than those leftist authoritarians.

Yes, their methods were undesirable. But so were the actions of the British government. And as they say, when you're fighting tyrannical monsters and oppressive authoritarians things tend get a bit messy. Too much of a gray area, considering every human has the god-given sovereign unalienable right to live free from tyranny and oppression.

Of course, we could always look at Bloody Sunday and how many innocent and patriotic Irish citizens were beaten, raped and murdered. Shame on them.

"Raped"? Do you have anything to back this up?

The IRA's methods were "undesirable". That has to be the understatement of the year.
