Thanks to everyone on the USA Thanksgiving day.
It's nice to know our stories are read and enjoyed.
Now I must go to prepare for the feast.

i feel for you and send you a lot of strength and good luck your way!

be brave! suggest to yourself that you are calm and collected and that nothing can hurt you.

do you get surgery with narcoses or just local anesthetic?

Hi Lucia, just some gas that was supposed to "calm me" and I didn't really feel anything from it...really...but, I never took the mask off so I suppose it could have been helping some. They offered to give me Valiums beforehand but, I don't prefer taking medicine unless I am desperate. I am desperate this morning and late evening yesterday and have taken the Oxycodone (with the stern warning that this may become habit forming-NOT for me it won't!). I did learn that when you are given a local anesthetic for any work on the bottom jaw, usually one or two shots will numb the entire area but, for work on the top-each area around each tooth must be numbed, front and back...so all in all I stopped counting shots LOL.

All in all, healing well and have a mouth full of stitches and gauze...

Thanks everyone for the positive vibes and well wishes!
Happy Turkey Day to those of you that celebrate and for our friends farther away have a beautiful day doing whatever you are doing. I was talked into doing a small dinner for my girls and my youngest daughter's girlfriend (they are traditionalists). So wine is definitely in my future and hopefully can choke down some smashed taters!

Geez! I CAN ramble some days!

P.S. Special thoughts going out to those lonely and in need and extra special to Timely and his loved ones...stay safe and hunkered down, please report in when/as you are able.

Errollorre and Chirp, Happy Thanksgiving.

Mark is dizzy and his blood pressure and sugars are high. Not going out for Thanksgiving as I need to keep an eye on him.

I thought today was Friday. My bad. Happy Thanksgiving folks!

ETA Speaking as a foreigner looking in, Thanksgiving seems like a warm-up round for Christmas, if that makes sense. I know its winter and all but two turkeys (The Brits often/sometimes have a turkey for the Christmas Day meal.) in the space of 2 months is a lot of work, with all the trimmings. Poor women, working away for days alone in the kitchen, kneading, rolling, cutting, filling, baking, roasting and other things. And telling the men-folk to leave the food alone. Ah, I remember those days...

I remember those days too, now we go to nice restaurants to get together. LOL

I'm home keeping an eye on Hubby. We've been talking for awhile and will check his sugars and blood pressure in maybe a half an hour. My Sister is going to order and bring me a nice plate from the restaurant after they eat. Mark didn't want anything, not even prime rib.

We usually have turkey for Thanksgiving and either ham or pork or something else for Christmas.

Hope you are having a nice and relaxing day Light!

From what I remember from my Dad, if sugars are high Mark needs insulin, if sugars are low he needs food. One thing I do remember is that you don't let the diabetic decide, ever. If sugars are high he won't be hungry. I hope you get him under control.

He has two kinds of insulin and one is fast acting. He usually has a problem eating because he isn't hungry. We have to figure out why. He has a diabetes specialist. I can see why it was so high as he ate a lot of pizza last night. When he does eat, he eats well, but usually you have to twist his arm, even with his favorite foods.

As for his blood pressure, it was way too high, but...we have been going back and forth trying to find out why his damned new primary care Doctor denied some of his refills. He has been without his blood pressure meds and one that prevents blood clots. He has had mini strokes in the past, so someone effed up royally. He finally got his meds today after over a week and a half!

I set up the thread for people who will be alone or sad or just want company and I didn't expect to be one who would need company. Now I'm lonely and scared.

Glad you are here. Maybe someone else can join us.

I hear diet coke is a good way to get blood pressure down because of the high potassium in it. My mom uses it anyhow.

Diet coke uses artificial sweeteners. They are pure poison. Aspartame. Much mentioned on ATS.

ETA My bad. Conspiratorial comment. But heart-felt.

OMG, he is on a very restricted diet and has to have low potassium foods. We have to limit even some of his favorite vegetables. He has many health issues. Thank you anyway Hun! You tried. Hugs!
