Landfall at Mexico Beach, just east of Panama City. No live coverage there that I have seen.

The Weather Channel may get a piece of the eyewall within the next 30minutes at Panama City.

The good news is the strongest winds are in a very tight radius.

Holy $h...pressure is down to 919mb!

It is, Maybe a combination of the warm waters and a shorter path to shore. Not looking good

Yeah looks like Andrew was at 922 with 175 sustained. This could hit 180-185.

I am thinking barcyclonic processess my have helped wind up the storm.

TWC has a live feed from Port St. Joe...white out conditions.

I found this twitter feed:

The storm tapped into tbe upper level westerlies...they steared it towards the east but may have added more energy.

Looks like landfall will be officially near or at Tyndall AFB officially with 155mph winds.

Damage assessment will probably have to wait until tomorrow...maybe late this evening.

Ok Thanks. RoadGravel mentioned a cold front in Texas that was pushing the system east.

Thank God they moved their planes North

Found a twitter feed from a chaser who left a feed on in his car as it got swept away from the surge in Mexico Beach. Apparently he sought shelter.

That's amazing, could you imagine being caught in that. That must be a 6 foot surge already.
the vehicle appears to be stuck as you can see a building in the background every so often.
His wife tweeted 5 minutes ago that they we're safe

That's terrible. If it happened to one house, I am sure it wasn't the only one.

Jim Cantore Dodges 2x4

Wow - side note; pretty crazy the comments wondering if he had an 'intern throw the 2x4 at him for ratings'...

Wondering how many storm chasers got injured today, if none I will be surprised!
