The left are two ends:

The lowest and the very highest. Neither end tens to feel the true pain of the left's policies. The bottom either directly benefits even as they're trapped in perpetuity by those policies while the very top are rich enough to afford them.

It's the middle strata that can't handle the costs and either get bludgeoned into oblivion becoming part of the bottom class or flee (as we see them do in California and Illinois and New York) or they find a way to claw their way into the very top.

California is as close as you can get to single party rule, and their state shows it. They can't even control typhus now.

And is literally a world of snip.

I brought up the Tea party, as an example of how the minority in congress, used the rules, and shut down the government until they got what they wanted. Yet it seems when the democrats did such, people cried foul, not seeing that the other side did do such as well. And to show that once a door is opened up, the other party will exploit it and it goes back and forth constantly. Neither party are willing to play fair, and will at times use any and all rules to their advantage.

Would you have preferred that I bring up the Nuclear option that was used in the Senate? The Democrats changed the rules to have such in place, and used it once. Then the Republican majority exploited it, and it was not a good idea, but a terrible idea, from the get go. It is that back and forth create, use and then exploit that is what makes Congress very ineffective at times, and both parties are guilty of doing such.

Used the rules not changed the rules....
hmm imagine that....
please tell me how the dems used the rules and shut down anything?
LOL the nuclear option....that one went well for the dems didn't it?
change the rules because you cant win elections and how did that work out for you?

Perhaps someday they will learn to color inside the lines, but that is not what this candidate is running on.
Like I posted earlier this would not be an issue had that hag hillary won now would it? There would be "no need" for changing the rules of "slaveowners".
The dems are exposed and need to clean house. Quit making excueses and get rid of the extremists that have taken your party.

The thing is, America is a democratic republic. Well, conceptually speaking anyhow. What these means is the majority rules, but cannot infringe upon the rights of people; that takes precedence over majority rule. For majority rule to work, we need one person, one vote. The electoral college does not support that.

In All Seriousness Neo , the Left's Narrative that this Idiotic Clueless Woman is Somehow a Viable Candidate for Political Office is one Sick Joke . She is Nothing More than a Distraction that Hides the Real Issues in the Democratic Party , No Credibility Whatsoever ...........

It's like they're quadrupling down on the stupidity, thinking that they'll gain more votes for it. The only thing they'll accomplish is getting the attention of the DNC elect, MSM, and Hollywood. I don't think anyone else is dumb enough to go along with this.

They've actually convinced themselves of the lie they invented, that the only reason they lost 2016 was because of Russians. This means they don't need to reexamine their policies or rethink their strategy. They can't do anything wrong.

Trump should offer to bail CA out financially, if they forfeit their right to vote for 4 years.

It sounds like you know literally nothing about the American system.

It's not majority rules. We have representatives who are there to vote their conscience not mob demands.

Removing the electoral college would mean small States lose their voice.

If anything we should be moving to a better system where a small amount of urban don't dictate everything for everyone else.

We need to repeal the 17th Amendment. Senators were originally not elected by the people, so they didn't have to worry about their next campaign when it came time to vote in Congress. We need to get back to that. The people have representation in the House of Representatives. The Senate was supposed to represent states interests, that's why there's 2 per state instead of broken out by population like the House is.

By "American system" I assume you are referring to the electoral college process? I would suggest you brush up yourself as you are patently wrong in your below statements.

It's not majority rules. We have representatives who are there to vote their conscience not mob demands.

Very ignorant on your part to refer to the the citizens of the United States as a "mob". Electors of each state are selected in a two part process by the very parties that seek to have them represent THE INTERESTS OF THAT POLITICAL PARTY. Therefore you are patently wrong in your statement. While there is no constitutional law in place that says an elector is not required to vote according to the popular vote of its political party there are fines involved for those electors A state's party and the national party for a specific political party ensure the electors who are put into place will in fact cast their vote for the political party's candidate.

Removing the electoral college would mean small States lose their voice.

The number of electoral college votes is determined by the population size of the state which correlates directly to the number of representatives for that state along with 2 state senators. California has the highest population in the country and therefore has the highest number of electoral college votes. Something I disagree with strongly as I have long felt the US Census Bureau intentionally skews the population numbers in California's favor so they can maintain a high electoral college count. Not to mention California also has the highest number of illegal immigrants living in any state and many were found to have been counted in the latest US Census Bureau totals for CA. Thus furthering my theory it is a rigged system in the favor of the socialist regime of California. Florida has only 10 million less people than California yet has 26 less electoral college votes. What type of math is that if not intentionally skewed in the favor of the democratic socialist regime of California?

If anything we should be moving to a better system where a small amount of urban don't dictate everything for everyone else.

What do you mean by a "small amount of urban"? This doesn't even make any sense. What is an example of a "better system"?

This just proves that Occasio-Cortez is an idiot and that the schools don't teach their history.

We have the EC exactly because of problems between state populations like we have today. Only back in the Founders day it was states like Virginia that had half a million people versus states like Delaware or Rhode Island who only barely 50,000. The only way to get all those states roped together and to agree to the system we have *was* the current Electoral College system because even back then, the smaller states did not want their voices in the national presidential elections swamped by a national popular vote type system. In other words, they were too smart to let themselves be ruled by Virginia and whoever that state wanted to be president.

And as time has gone on, this same problem has cropped up and shifted as the populations of the states have grown and changed with different states having different large and small populations.

This issue with California thinking they're all that because they have so many people compared to Wyoming is *not* a new thing, and the system is still working exactly like it's supposed to.

This is yet another example of not only the ignorance from Ocasio herself, but the left who agree with her. BTW, yes POTUS Trump was also wrong when he made a similar claim...

The Founding Fathers of the U.S. knew how easily it is for the "mob mentality" to become a dictatorship of the majority, or as the left has been calling it since Marx, the dictatorship of the proletariat. That form of dictatorship has been used, and to this day it is used to oppress even majorities, not only minorities.

If the electoral college was abolished, then democrats would only need New York, California and even part of Florida and they would get the popular vote, and win every election. This latest madness from Ocasio and her leftwing fans shows how dangerous they are to a truly free society not only in the U.S., but anywhere else where the left has control.

Several months back I posted a thread in which CNN asked the question if the electoral college should be abolished, and I presented it as evidence that the left wanted exactly this to happen. I was assured this would never happen, yet here we are. Even Shillary in her latest crazy rant has called for the abolition of the electoral college, alongside many of her demonrat friends.

But again. Why keep the electoral college?

Never having the electoral college would have only changed like 3-4 Presidental elections ever. Nobody cares about Rutherford Hayes...but the last two big ones would have been Al Gore-probably for one term then Bush. And hillary over Trump.

Most people thought Gore was going to beat Bush and even Trump thought Hillary was going to beat him come election night.

In the scheme of things two extra democratic terms wouldn't have hurt the country.

I don't see a problem.

Two states should not solely run the US, especially two states on the verge of banktruptcy due to the inept policies of the left...not to mention with the worse homeless problems in the US, again due to the inept policies of the left.

Because then it will be demonrats winning EVERY ELECTION... Yes it does make a huge difference, but we still have to do more since demonrats are fighting to allow illegals/citizens of other nations who are not citizens of the U.S. to vote in our elections...

But I just showed you that it was just two elections. Don't forget that Reagan and Bush Sr and Jr. all won on popular votes.

You have to trust the American people to make the right choice. I do. If Republicans or Democrats for that matter want to win elections they need to give us better candidates. It has nothing to do with anything else.

Just look at who actually lost elections Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, Jimmy Carter, McCain, John Kerry, Michael Dukakis, Walter MOndale, It's not a conspiracy. We keep getting bad candidates.

It takes away the perception of our votes not counting. It gives the population control, instead of a few states. Now it doesn't matter if California or New york have higher population because we're not giving them more power-electoral votes because of it.
