Whether Kavanaugh makes it through the votes now or not, the ultimate final verdict comes in November elections.

Traditionally the opposition is the one who wins the mid term elections. But then in today's political climate, nothing is traditional anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a red wave. Democrats played a very dirty game with Kavanaugh. To the point that disgusted even their own followers. Have many friends in the states who have claimed their disappointment about the intrigues and behind the scene attacks done by democrats. I hope what they stirred comes and bites them in their behinds.

Why are you guys so all in with this guy?

Didn't he screw up the vince foster case and let the Clintons off the hook?

Because Trump likes him, and Democrats don't.

You are assuming people can still think for themselves. They can't.
(Well, most)

the guy on the left who can't do anything but puke up CNN talking points, is going to lecture everyone about partisan politics. What a tool.

Your insults don't phase me by the way. I don't care enough about you, or your opinion.
Have a nice day.

Yep. That's all they had to do.

Then in 2020, they run out one of the young up and comers to run against the "tired old man" currently in the office, and odds are very good, Trump was a one term President.

But...

They didn't do that, in fact, they went about as for towards 180 degrees the opposite as it's possible to get.

That's pretty much an apt description of my thought process, though I'm not even close to a vote for Trump in 2020, yet.

My personal distaste for the man just won't allow for it. If I vote in 2020, and never in my life ever envisioned saying that, it will almost certainly be Third Party.

Republicans have "crossed the aisle" to confirm Democrat SCOTUS Justices, more than Democrats have for Republican SCOTUS Justices.

I wouldn't count the chickens before they're hatched.

November is a lifetime away. In fact, once could argue that if Kavanaugh gets his seat, by the time November rolls around, the left will swarm to vote and the right (as is all too often the case) will think their objective was accomplished and will have largely forgotten what the Dems tried to do to Kavanaugh.

Hard to think the dems would stay silent until Nov. They're too obsessed with Trump for that. They've kept us motivated for over 2 years.

If I had to choose a politician type, the blue dog democrats were the closest to my own beliefs but they have been slowly purged since the ACA.

That breed is going extinct.
The dems will not abide them.

The funny thing is all the left had to do for 2-4 years was play it cool, calm and collected. Iron out their ideas, fortify their platform and defeat Trump in 2020 in a landslide and rule the country for the next 20-30 years- - but they just couldn't help themselves. Simply because the socialist in reality is the same rabid animal as the worst offending corporate oligarch. Enough is never enough. Greed reigns supreme no matter what side of the aisle you are sitting on.

Control is the most addicting, deleterious drug for humankind.

The Democrat party isn't the party that USE to support the working class as they pretended to in the past. Now they have become the party of Anarchy and Marxism.

When I hear them use the term "Democracy" in their rants it just sends shivers down me spine.

That's because it's only democracy when it works in their favor.

I think it's also likely that we've barely scratched the surface of what really happened, especially behind the scenes through this Kavanaugh nomination and confirmation process. And there will be much more coming out over the days and weeks between now and the midterms.

The democrats went way too far with the politics of personal destruction this time and exposed themselves as the desperate evil corrupt power hungry group they really are, like never before to the American people.

The best part is they don't seem to realize the damage they have done to themselves in this process yet. But they will soon enough.

imo

You assume that a good portion of the democratic voters are thinking logically....unfortunately it's tribal and will only get more tribal as time passes on...it's not about who's right and who's wrong..it's get their guy in from their team...both sided operate in this fashion and it has nothing to do with democracy..

Because their guy from their team believes in the same philosophy as them.

Last hope of seeing that was when the DNC ran Jim Webb off after the first DNC Debate.

They use the term Democracy as in Mob rules. They NEVER bring up the fact we are a Republic, thus our form of government with checks and balances. Sure it isn't perfect, however the cancer of corruption within our halls of government from top to bottom certainly aren't helping.

Yea no doubt there carewemust
I remember when Republican Presidents would appoint Democrats to positions so the other side wouldn't feel like they were under-represented (even when we held majorities). This was a great time, something we should all miss. But when your opponents will stop at nothing to defeat your agenda and objectively pro-American plans for the future I can hardly imagine any sort of compromise

When your opponents seek to limit your Constitutional rights, for any reason (including "safety"), compromising with them would mean compromising core positions that more liberty is always better than less liberty (without an exceptions!)

But this is something that should be mourned, IMHO. Whether we fully realize it yet or not, we lost something important through this latest farce process. Just like we lost many important things over the last 2 years - even intangible things. The fact a segment of this country is willing to "go all in" to destroy it/us is sobering to me. All because we want to see more liberty, more freedom, more rights, less government, far lower taxes and return power to the people vs. politicians

Absolutely. I've heard through the grapevine (haven't double checked yet) that the FBI reports show that Ford didn't even write the letter she said she wrote.
