I couldn't care less what the insurance companies want. They're one of the most profitable industries in the country and yet they don't actually offer a service. They convinced people they need to pay them money so when the time comes that the money is needed it can be denied and end up in a CEOs pocket.

That is demonstrably false. Insurance company profit margins are in the single digits...

I would like to see figures for that.
The industry that donates the most to politicians is the insurance and pharma industry.
They spend more money on purchasing politicians and advertising than any other sector.

My Mom had a massive stroke a couple years ago....the paramedics rang for life-flight....$25,000
Thing is she was brain dead instantly. That didn't stop the Catholic hospital from drilling into her head and keeping her "alive" for 6 weeks until the insurance ran out. THEN...OMG, better mover her to hospice....nothing we can do for her.

The problem is all these fake, thievin, evil, criminal Jesus church hospitals are in cahoots with the insurance companies. Ban insurance, tax churches at 80%, and make medical price gouging illegal. $800 for an epi-pen? $10k for an ambulance ride?

This is it.
Neither party want to tackle the costs.
Dems want to keep prices high but have other people pay for it.
Repubs want to keep prices high in milking everyone and defend corporate lobbyists in doing so.

The insurance and pharma industry along with shareholders need to take a paycut.

There was a time in this country when most small business did not have stocks on wall street and the customer was number with hq goods and services.

Now shareholders are number one and customers get cheap trinkets from china and crappy service.

Shareholders need to take a jump off a cliff because they are the middleman draing this country dry.

At least they are not taking "taxing" you any longer if you refuse their horribly expensive mandated insurance.

I am still dumbfounded at the health system in the US . How can the self proclaimed greatest country on earth not have free health , for everybody . Trump wanted to clean the swamp . the swamp is your healthcare system .

Sorry, but it's not JUST the republicans who are a problem here. The Democrats are equally responsible for the state of healthcare here in the US.

Also sounds like this man's wife should be on medicare/medicaid, which doesn't cover everything. But then, any job this man gets at 87 likely won't pay for her medical bills anyway.

Medical costs are stupid high in the US, part of that is due to the crazy expensive medical insurance doctors and hospitals have to have too.

Its a totally broken system none of our leaders want to attempt to tackle because it's almost a guaranteed way to get voted out of office.

Utter horsecrap.

Obama had the votes, and instead of forcing through something that would function, he pinched off the Obamacare loaf and left it simmering in the toilet for 6 years to bankrupt these people a little more with rising premiums and reduced benefits.

The GOP couldn't have blocked anything. They didn't have the votes.

Exactly. I've heard that pathetic excuse that the Republicans were blocking him and all sorts of nonsense. No. He had the votes to do any damn thing he wanted and he basically betrayed his own base. And they loved him for it.

Not only that. He completely lied about what he was going to do and then just shrugged and said "deal with it".

The swamp that prevents Trump from doing anything about prevented Obama from doing anything about it as well. The swamp is the moneyed special interests ang lobbyists.
