So it looks like the article was pulled, bud oddly enough another C-130 cargo plane operated by the Puerto Rico Air National Guard crashed today as well.

There was one in 2015 that meets the description of this one that was caused by the pilot's NVG case.

Yenisafak is currently the only one reporting it.

It appears it might be the 2015 crash. A tweet 5 minutes ago reporting it as today links to the 2015 crash.

Holy cannoli...I hope it crashed in a remote area, an out of control C-130 would basically be an out of control AGM.

Respect for the dead, however it begs the question...how? I'm not sure but I will rule out pilot error, perhaps a flapperon or some other catastrophic mechanical failure, planes usually crash themselves, it's even rarer if they are in the hands of a professional.

Only time will tell I guess.

Everything I've found about it was the one that came down on takeoff in Jalalabad in 2015. The pilot used his NVG case to hold the elevators full nose up while hot loading, and forgot they were there, and couldn't see them through his goggles. They took off and the aircraft immediately did what the flight controls were set to, went as straight up as a C-130 can, and came straight back down.

It's popping up in multiple places on twitter now and every one that has a link goes back to the 2015 crash. No other sources are reporting anything happening.
