I dare you to find a more epic from-start-to-finish movie soundtrack. Man, it's even better than the movie! The VHS it came with was just bonus material!

Whether you're getting in the groove, getting your exercise on, or getting in the mood--this IS the soundtrack.

I never clubbed, and I barely did the 90's thing, but this music has held up very well in my opinion. You can't help but chair dance or car karaoke when this is playing.

If you dislike it, you lose.

My wife and I loved the 70's - had three baby sisters available so we would put on our costumes and go clubbing - what a blast. Saturday Night Fever just drove everyone into a disco craze. Of course you also had many others making disco music out of their minds, what fun. Donna Summers was my favorite.

You are correct on this soundtrack - really cool and makes you want to start it all over again. I understand this isn't 70 music but it sure seems to follow the beats we listened to. Dancing hard and drinking hard was so much fun. What great nights we had.

Nope. This soundtrack transcends personal tastes. One is helpless and must surrender to the hynotic rhythms and pulsing beats.

Do you think this music is my tastes?

If you're going to talk best movie soundtrack of all time, you have to put the original Star Wars in there.

Anytime I see a list the first one that pops up in my head is "Judgement Night". The soundtrack was really good but the movie was just horrible. Never been a fan of Rap but the way ti was mixed with metal acts was pretty good.

I agree about the soundtrack. I have it and it is awesome. Unlike you, I do like the movie however.

Nailed it. I would add Highlander, Pulp Fiction(you're right about Tarantino) and Dazed and Confused.

Absolutely, his work is amazing to the core! (for the most part, lol)

Pop trivia;

Hans Zimmer has been named as one of the top 100 living geniuses, and he's the guy who wrote 'Spider Pig' - that's right, the same genius that wrote this tune;

...is responsible for writing this tune;

Other than Hans' work, I'd have to say that one of my all-time favorite movie soundtracks is that of The Lost Boys, not just the theme tune, but the whole album (except for the very last track, perhaps lol) (I have two copies, I always keep a spare backup of the good stuff
)

(Eta, I see Hellmut used Time as an example too, my go-to on the toob is the one I've linked above, I didn't recognize the thumbnail on yours, huur-durr lol)

I never clubbed either but thought this was a super cute funny movie with a great soundtrack. Whenever I hear the muzak version of "What is Love?" or even the real version I think of those 2 guys and their funny dance moves.

However, the best movie soundtrack in my humble opinion belongs to the greatest movie ever made...."2001: A Space Odyssey." !!!

I didn't care for it, or the movie but you can't deny the popularity of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
