I'm a newbie too, but welcome to the forum, i know you are nowhere near Queensland, but i have always been fascinated by "The Shire of Isis, it even has an emblem of the Egyptian Isis, which is very strange, there wasn't many Egyptian adventurers if any, in the 19th Century that named areas!

Even more strange was that it was established on 1st January 1887.
I am an archaeoastronomer, so study beliefs involving the stars, so if a star culminates on the above date, it seems intentional that the date was chosen to correspond.
Sirius culminates at midnight on 1st January, the ancient Egyptians valued it as the "ISIS" star, so it all ties together too neatly.
These days Sirius doesn't culminate on 1st January at midnight in Australia as during the First World War Summer Time was added!
