It appears that Senate Judiciary chair Chuck Grassley is SERIOUS about not letting anti-conservative groups and individuals take control of, or damage, the Brett Kavanaugh SCOTUS confirmation process.

Here is an excerpt from a letter that Senator Grassley sent to FBI Director Christopher Wray this evening.

As part of that process, the Committee has been investigating various allegations made against Judge Kavanaugh. The Committee's investigation has involved communicating with numerous individuals claiming to have relevant information.

While many of those individuals have acted in good faith in providing the Committee information during the investigation, unfortunately it appears some have not.

As explained below, I write today respectfully referring Mr. [REDACTED] for investigation of potential violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1001 and 1505, for materially false statements Mr. [REDACTED] made to the Committee as part of its investigation of allegations against Judge Kavanaugh.
Much more at: www.redstatewatcher.com...

This criminal referral gives notice to others who will be questioned by the FBI this week about Christine Ford's accusations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to BE HONEST.

And, after the FBI investigation is completed, in 7 or fewer days, I bet there will be other CRIMINAL REFERRALS. Referrals For more than "making false statements".

I think its going to go deeper than that. Probably an actual CONSPIRACY between certain Democrats in Congress and outside, in the private sector. Their pattern (ie. Spygate) is pretty predictable.

So, this isn't about Christine Ford's allegations, or Ramirez' allegations or Swetnik's allegations. This is about the guys who said they went to the boat to beat up Brett and Mark for raping their friend. The guy recanted and apologized. I guess that wasn't good enough.

I'm proud of Chuck Grassley for not being a typical "all bluster no bite" politician.

IMO, its more about sending a warning shot across the bow of those the FBI will be questioning this coming week. BE HONEST.

Would an apology be good enough if you were the accused in this case with all the other allegations against you, millions paying attention and the media took this accuser's story and ran with it, reporting it to the world??

How do you know she's lying? She might well be politically motivated but that doesn't necessarily mean she's lying. However, I do believe the statute of limitations should be set at a sensible time period and people should be told that it's their own responsibility to report a crime within a reasonable amount of time.

I suppose that would not really prevent this circus but it would be a start. I'm not even going to blame her because she's probably right that the deck was stacked against victims in those days. It may well still be. This is something that needs to be fixed.

Another letter to FBI Director Wray this evening. This time from Senator Orrin Hatch, of the Judiciary committee. He is asking to be immediately notified if any witnesses, or their attorneys, seek to DELAY, or are UNCOOPERATIVE with FBI questioning.

Rape is a serious crime, and lying about rape is as well.

Neither are fixed with with "I'm sorry".

That's a very good letter. I like that Hatch puts it on the record one more time that Ford's attorneys misled their client about the offers of the committee investigators to come to her in a private meeting.

Most people tend to latch on to, and support, those they like personally. They don't take the time to throughly investigate claims and platforms, because 90% of the politicians lie, when it comes to fulfilling their biggest promises for getting elected.

I don’t really care about the players involved as much as defending the concept of innocent until proven guilty

Sorry that defending that, which is one of the foundations of our country, is seen as a distraction to you

Why? So that he can leak the info to fox and let them use it as propaganda? It's not like he can do anything about it.

And there is the answer to why someone on ATS posted a thread wondering why Trump seemed so calm about the happenings lately.

I am beginning to believe that someone fell into a trap.

Dems scream "We HAVE to investigate!!!"

Answer is... Yes we will. EVERYONE.

If this was done purposefully, my hat is off to the President.

Used their own playbook against them, it seems.
