Why am I not surprised? This is another ploy that is designed to prolong the nomination until after Midterms. This has been the strategy that the Democrats have been using since day one of this nomination process. Schumer stated this from the beginning and has used any tactic available to obstruct this Supreme Court nomination process.

“I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same,” Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer of New York said in a statement. “The stakes are simply too high for anything less.”

www.usatoday.com...

The Democrats have created a circus designed to stall this voting process, in the hope that Democrats will regain control of the Senate in November and thus have power to deny any Trump nominee for Supreme Court. The Senate Judiciary Committee did everything possible to accommodate Dr. Ford, even offering to send staffers and committee members to California to speak with her.

Now, because of SPINELESS Senator Jeff Flake, there will be an FBI investigation looking into the veracity of Dr. Ford's claims. Kavanaugh's friend, Mark Judge has indicated that he will cooperate and offer his testimony to the FBI. Judge Kavanaugh and President Trump both agreed to this process, with President Trump saying this about the process:

he was ordering the F.B.I. to conduct what he called a “supplemental” investigation that he said “must be limited in scope and completed in less than a week,” as the Republican Senate leadership had asked for.

www.nytimes.com...

The Democrats who were banging the drum for an FBI investigation into Kavanaugh should be happy, but it would appear that Dr. Ford's attorney, Debra Katz is not happy about Trump wanting it completed in less than a week.

The legal team of Christine Blasey Ford has come out against an agreement reached by Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee to delay a full Senate vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation

Debra Katz said in a statement released Friday evening. “Dr. Christine Blasey Ford welcomes this step in the process, and appreciates the efforts of Senators Flake, Murkowski, Manchin and Collins — and all other senators who have supported an FBI investigation — to ensure it is completed before the Senate votes on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination. No artificial limits as to time or scope should be imposed on this investigation.”

www.breitbart.com...

More stall tactics? I now know why Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s office recommended Katz to represent Dr. Ford. Instead of relishing the opportunity that a FBI investigation is being offered, just as the Democrats requested, we're getting yet another stall tactic being used by Debra Katz. God, I personally hope the FBI uncovers the relationship between Katz and the DNC, as well as Ford's deleted social media history. I'm sure Katz's wired eyes would really bulge out if they did....

I said this on a different thread yesterday and I'll say it here again.

The Democrats won't stop now, this was not their last card. You can expect a lot of more stalling. After the situation gets buried they're gonna invent something else, maybe a false flag terrorist attack.

Who knows what they're not capable at this point?

This isn't even new.

They stalled every Bush court minor and major appointee the same way, the whole time, the same Democrats.

They are using the same playbook from 2003.

It worked there, it will work again, they figure.

As a parent, when is it time to tell your child enough is enough and discipline them?

That's what needs to happen this mid-term.

If We the People can't reign this in, it will all be a never-ending downward spiral from here.

It isn't up to the politicians to reign themselves in.

That's our job and we need to start taking it seriously.

I'm a realist and I highly doubt the actions of "The People" will do anything. I'm willing to bet that 50% (if not more) of the American people have been brain washed by the Liberal Agenda, MeTooMovement, LGBT activists and Liberal biased mainstream news outlets, spewing their idiotic nonsense. Traditional values and the belief of a higher power are now laughed upon by this crowd. How the heck will this "never-ending spiral' end? It won't, unless our entire political process is changed....and there's no way that the powerful, wealthy elite, who pull the strings, will ever allow that.

Sen. Jeff Flake should feel like a manipulated fool tonight.

The world can plainly see how Democrats operate now.

The solution is simple. Elect more Republicans to the House and Senate.

Make Democrats totally irrelevant.

I'm kind of ashamed that I was pretty strong of a Democrat for many years. The party has changed now. I actually became more leaning towards picking whomever was the best candidate in my opinion only about twelve years ago or so, before that I voted almost straight democrat unless I personally knew a person running who was Republican. Now, I feel I should not vote Democrat on anything anymore, their actions over the last maybe four years is disgusting to me.

I'm ashamed as an American that we have adults behaving like children in our government. Partisan politics suck! We should vote for the best qualified person for the job, based on past accomplishments and their integrity. It's all about control and money. Money pays for legislation because of unscrupulous politicians taking bribes. It has been that way for decades and it isn't about to change anytime soon.

I am surprised that Mrs Ford is not on a month long cruise by now, soon to be for sure. I doubt this ends well for anybody but especially the people who put this all together.

Dr fords attorneys are smarmy and clearly partisan....

He grabbed the mic from dr ford as if he had been raped...she seemed like a deer stunned in headlights...I felt sorry for her....

Total narcissist lawyer who thinks he is America’s savior....

No offense to any lawyers on ATS who have academic credentials beginning in high school (national merit scholar) or college(phi beta kappa)

But otherwise, this guy is a tool...

Honestly, how does one get the former FBI deputy directors personal attorney for free if this is not a partisan hit job?

*im talking about the bald guy who sat to dr fords left

Republicans are still missing a lot of opportunities to fight fire with fire. Too timid and fearful.

For example, Today, Chuck Grassley should have told the deep-caring saint, Cory Booker, to agree to a Senate investigation of the sexual assault he allegedly committed in New Jersey. When he's near tears over how Christine Ford is being treated unfairly, ask him if he'd support an investigation into DNC Co-chair/Congressman Keith Ellison beating the daylights out of his girlfriend last year.

You forget that The People elected Trump to change things. So that part worked.

Also, people in America that identify as Democrat are now 29%, not 50%.

The 40% of Americans that are Independent are running screaming from the Dems.

So I still have a little faith in the electoral process.

Weeks ago I was in agreement in some ATS thread with some liberal/ democrat and someone responded to my post saying that I shouldn’t give an inch because democrats would jump on any opportunity or cracked door to bust it wide open ... they’re always looking for an opportunity.

Sounds like that person was accurate, specifically in this situation.

Are you reaching even lower into that bag of inconsequential nonsense to make something out of nothing in order to further the partisan divide?

The situation demands an FBI probe. Anyone with half a brain and a modicum of common sense can see this.

Anyone else is just scared of what the FBI will find.

The fact the attorney didn't say "thanks"? SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.

What a load of stinking fecal matter this thread is.

Can a committee member be removed? How does the committee go about getting Booker removed from the Senate Judiciary Committee? He should not be serving in that capacity. He made a huge @$$ of himself and acted stupidly. If nothing else, he should be censured. Throw Feinstein in there, too.

It's an incentive for dozens to come out of the woodwork. There are lots of functional psychopaths out there and combine that with a "cause", mix a little creepy porn lawyering in with it, and you have a mix of weirdos from hell with a "story".

i agree we are just in a transition phase, with the democrats being desperate as hell. Tied themselves to too many high profile fringe groups and have begun alienating the larger voting base moderate democrats, including a lot of their 60 and 70 year old base that cant relate to these new tactics. This group votes, they cant wait to vote, and they actually watch what is going on and have their experience and know which way the wind is blowing, and its a demographic the left often ignores.
