Mr Rogers is no doubt one of the kindest souls to have ever graced this earth. He is the very symbol of humility and kindness to me.

The world needs more men like him.

story goes PBS was struggling and these were in the days before Rogers had his notoriety. The company needed 20 million USD in order to keep operating and well Mr Rogers earned it in the form of a speech to Congress.

We sadly lost this treasure of a man in 2003 but not before he left us with over 900 show spanning 31 seasons. Helping children not only feel comfortable and safe in their own skin but also how to deal with their emotions and frustrations while also imparting morals and kindness.

Here is Mr Rogers case before Congress for the money that would allow him to continue his great work.video from May 1969

Im looking forward to seeing the movie about his life.
Tom Hanks playing Mr Rogers, perfect casting!

I heard every single cardigan he wore on the show, was knit by his mother.

Great man! I remember watching him while growing up.
On Showtime Jim Carry is doing a show pretending to be like him. So far it is good. It is tough being good all the time.

I watched that, Sesame Street and Electric Company every day. Should be mandatory watching for everyone.....grownups included.

I didn’t even know the movie existed until today, and your right Tom Hanks should be able to capture his spirit.

Where would you place your bets on a 'Celebrity Death-Match' between Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross?

I’d bet on a draw and reap the sweet sweet odds
