S&F for you!! I can't add any more to what you have said. That being said I also believe we will not only have a red wave but more like a red tsunami in November. This all has actually made my heart hurt. Jeez not a great feeling when you have had stents placed in your coronary arteries just 20 months ago.

This is not the Democratic party of John F. Kennedy or his brother Bobby. This is a full on take over by what I consider an extreme left socialist/communist influence. This is being orchestrated by none other the deep state globalist operatives. All one has to do is look at the influences such as Council on Foreign Relations, Tavistock, Rhodes Scholars, and Carnegie influence that some of the career politicians hale from. Yale scull and bones comes to mind. There are also Republicans influenced by the same group. This is why my hopes hang on President Trump. Both sides dislike him. May God keep him safe and help him clean out this swamp of globalist trash. I want my country back. I am tired of lunatics running the show selling us out.

Well said my friend. Beautiful.
You are right, back then I may have been considered a democrat.
What we see now is a remix from the 60's, flower children and RULES FOR RATICALS by Saul Alinsky (SP?).
They have taken over the party and destroyed it.

This is a beautiful thing but I have to say, many of you do not sound like republicans.
I would like to extend the olive branch and welcome you to the Libertarian party.

We need more true libertarians.

Lately it seems we have had a bunch of lefty left left liberals who somehow think they are libertarian.

We have also had freaks who agree we should have totally open borders come to the party.

Then we have those anarchist that think they are Libertarian.

Don't even get me started on the ones that...........

NVM....

Do y'all have room for one more?

I would, if they would drop their support of illegal aliens.

And quit running weirdos like Johnson.

I voted for Johnson last go around.

I could not vote for Killery and I thought Trump was a shill to ensure she won so I did not vote for him.

His first Year in office changed my mind and I jumped on the Trump Train. I now have the feeling that he is actually more Libertarian than Republican.

He is doing an awesome Job.

I am not affiliated with ether the Republican nor Democratic party. Last time I was filling out papers at the DMV I wrote in that I was a Modern Whig, a small third party I've been following for a while.

That said I do believe that America's future is with the underlying platform of the Democrat party (the traditional platform)... Increased social and economic mobility, greater access to healthcare and education, increased protisipation and protection for the underserved and minority groups. The realization that unfettered capitalism can not "by itself" bring about a better future for the majority of people (in the world, if not just the US).

Unfortunately today's Democrat party is as far away from their professed ideals than they could possibly be. If they are ever to be the party that brings America into it's future than they must first extract their heads from their @sses and do some meaningful sole searching.

I had hoped the loss to Donald Trump was going to be the catalyst that brought about this change in the Democrat party. And for a brief moment when we heard about such things as a power play to replace Pelosi as minority leader I thought it was happening. But that inkling of growth in the Democrat party quickly died in the first few months of 2017; and from those ashes emerged a even more brutal form of the democrat party. Instead of figuring out where they went wrong, they have doubled down on their malfeasance.

I hope the Democrats continue to loose ground so they can finally reach a point where they must grow if they want to survive.

I am female, yes..

The avatar was sent to me when I asked a really close friend in the graphic arts business to sum me up, as she knew me, in a picture that I could use here to identify myself. I am not normally into online chat or forums but had lurked here for a decade so I wanted a good avatar. Full disclosure, we were drunk and I showed her ATS. Then I got the courage to set up an account. Then it took me a few years to do my first post.

So I'm assuming it is online somewhere and available to the public domain.

I didn't ask... I was just flattered by it because she knows I love spending time in the summer at a campfire somewhere far away from everything under a full moon. It fit.

That is my hope as well.

I currently see the Democratic party as something that has been taken over by, for lack of a better word, the far left.

I would hope that it gets beaten down to the point that it HAS to shift back to resembling what it once was.

And for the record, I voted Libertarian when Ron Paul ran under that party... I understand why he went Republican because the two parties have a choke-hold on voting rights in this country.

I see the Libertarian party as the future, but don't know how it can progress politically yet so for now I have to settle for the lesser of two evils.

Which is a sad state of affairs indeed.

So if it is all a big game then why get worked up about it?

I'm going to start voting R because D actually impacted my life negatively under Obama.

Under Trump I am personally doing better.

Simple enough for you?
