I mean. That's what I would do. Trump is the one who wants him out. Why appease him by resigning? Force Trump to fire Rosenstien so the optics look bad on Trump not Rosenstein. Makes sense.

Good question, unfortunately I think a war would serve more as a distraction. God knows the Media loves to praise Trump whenever he drops a bomb. That is a dangerous thing, seeing as they will take any opportunity to say Trump is anything but sane, yet they condition him to expect praise for military action.
