PTSD=BS

If I am reading this incident correctly, it very well could be PTSD (Post Tequila Shot Disorder). Most of us just call it a hangover though.

Good points. I'm thinking there may be more false claims against Kavanaugh this week, once the checks are received.

From the article:

I’ve known this all along,” he said. “It’s been on my mind all these years when his name came up. It was a big deal.” The story stayed with him, he said, because it was disturbing and seemed outside the bounds of typically acceptable behavior, even during heavy drinking at parties on campus.

"outside the bounds of typically acceptable behavior"
At a college dorm party? in the 80's?

I saw a man completely naked, running around outside at MSU at a dorm party. He wasn't even drunk. Now I wish I had gotten his name.

Let's just hope he doesn't plan on running for the USSC.

Corey booker admitting to groping a drunk girlss breast after she shoved his hand away.

Should he be forced to resign?

Could his victim have ptsd, and should the fbi investigate this?

Absolutely not, he's a democrat therefore exempt, he was having a Spartacus moment.

You can't speak for everyone.

People react differently.

One thing about PTSD -- is the therapy is to go back and relive it -- BECAUSE you do block parts (sometimes all) of what happened.

My friend specializes in PTSD.

People react to trauma differently.

Well then this does not apply to the Blasey Ford incident, because in her letter to Feinstein, she noted that she ran into Mark Judge later and he was incredibly nervous/embarrassed to see her.

Which means (1) she hadn't blocked it out from ptsd, and (2) Judge wasn't 'black out drunk' because according to her, he obviously remembered the night too...

I am not speculating elsewhere.

I'm stating what my friend who specializes in PTSD told me.

There is simply NOT a "One Fits All" reaction.

Something that seems simple as flashing a penis in someone's face could cause one person severe PTSD -- while another person savagely raped will not experience PTSD.

I'm not disagreeing with you on this, and I'm also very familiar with ptsd. I do find it somewhat sad that the term has been watered down to this level though.

Ptsd occurs when you experience something above your body's capacity to deal with it (very simplified explanation). My brother in law had to pick up the body parts of a suicide bomber in Iraq. Equating this with the overwhelming stress of seeing a penis while drunk at a dorm party is a disgrace, even if it is theoretically a possibility.

I find it has the same effect as women who claim to be raped or assaulted because of the way someone 'stared at them'. It undermines the horrendous experiences of people who have been 'actually raped'. It's why when Amy Shumer told the world she had been raped, she said 'actual rape raped', because she knows that in this current climate, nearly everything is called rape.

Hmmm... I've wandered a little off topic here...

Ok.

Confession time.

I was in college in the 80's.

Please forgive me.

And, penis.

No, you're correct, and while what is described in this incident is a dirty joke to play, that's basically what it is - the type of dirty joke that gets played on someone who is really too drunk for their own good.

Hand her the fake penis; then see if she notices when you hand her the real thing.

YouTube is full of cruel pranks people play on their drunk friends.

Just got back home and saw this too. Then I started reading through replies and once again, I'm disgusted.

I don't understand the complete disconnect from morals and values, in order to support politics.

Folks must realize that our kids are also watching the news and reading the social media. When I see excuses posted such as 'oh she's a lunatic' or 'boys will be boys' or 'why did she wait this long?', do you realize what we're all teaching our youngsters -- the next generation?

The boys are learning that such behavior is ok since many of the adults are ok with it. And the girls are learning just to go with it when it happens, or just to sit on it as they will get called crazy and be ridiculed when they do.

People are letting politics get in the way of morals, values and proper parenting -- and it is disgusting to watch, to say the least.

Just going to throw this out there as well. So here we have people demanding an FBI investigation into a 35 year old incident with, as of yet no corroboration. Yet, our Congress has a slush fund of OUR TAX DOLLARS used to PAY OFF people whom they have possibly harassed sexually in some way. Where is the outrage?? Why are we not asking for the names of the Congressmen and women who have used these funds?? It is utter hypocrisy.

Then with all due respect I'd like to speak to this person who deals with PTSD only because I have seen two therapist one who is a specialists in PTSD and one who doesn't and both (yes the second isn't a specialist) have said that PTSD can block some but a trauma like rape or anything that extreme is rarely blocked but instead you replay it over and over and over, you try to work out if you could have stopped it if you were to weak to stop it that is PTSD (again from what I've been told) and while there are other forms that is the most common which is why a lot of the military who have it explain that they cannot get the images out of their heads.

I promise you, while I cannot speak for all women (or any being a bloke, I know you might not have known that) ask any military person or any rape victim YOU DO NOT FORGET much if anything at all. It can last seconds but for you it feels so much longer, you end up playing it over and over in your head not for hours, or days, or weeks not even months but years it effects every single aspect of your life from being touched by another person to having a relationship with someone, rape or any form of assault is damn near impossible to forget.

For most of us, it has nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with being sick and tired of such low-grade interactions between teenagers being heralded as sexual assault nearly 4 decades later.

We're also sick and goddamn tired of this constantly being portrayed as a 'boys are all rapists' situation.

Like I posted earlier today...the dems were stalling until they could get another accuser. I also said that most people wouldn't want to risk their careers to help the dems. Sociology and Psychology wiuld probably be the only 2 professional fields that could get away with a false accusation and still be marketable. How convenient that they're both Psychology nuts.

that is a mighty serious accusation.......they better have some more ammo than just a mere accusation.

ETA: Apparently this is Avenatti saying this. If that scumbag said this, and had zero information to back it up, I just have no words for his type of filth.

You are absolutely correct. We should be teaching our children not to lie, not to disparage other’s reputations with zero evidence, and not to throw screaming hissy fits...because elections have consequences.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I wonder if that" low-grade teenage interaction" would bother you if it were some boy's pecker forced into your daughter's face when she goes off to college?

And you do realize this stuff is coming out all over the world, sometimes decades later, because assault on women has been ridiculed and swept aside for all those decades? Women feel safer to talk about it than ever before, and it won't stop here. We'll see many, many more over the next few years. Now that it's started.

But you're right, it's not ok to revisit old things -- like Roe vs. Wade.

LMFAO! Nice try, but even you aren't actually stupid enough to not be able to clearly see that these two women are lying.
