I never said they were stealing jobs. I explained to you why my life was worse under Obama's administration. I can guarantee you I'm not the only one. And my taxes don't go up every year. I'm in the Middle Class, you said you own a business so maybe that's why. We implemented a new raise system here where I work due to the new tax reform because we could afford to so maybe your business is much bigger than the one I work for.

My taxes always seem to go up. Sometimes I get a refund sometimes not, but it generally doesn't have anything to do with who's president. My insurance always goes up, every single year and has since I started working decades ago.

With the way the Dems are acting, the blue wave they keep claiming is coming will just be a little ripple in the ty-d-bowl.

But don't worry, the GOP has a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

No , I am Quite SURE the Nov. 2018 Midterm Elections Will be the Last Hurrah for Any Far Left Democrat Wielding Considerable Political Power in this Country for a Long Time Regardless of the Massive Voter Fraud they Will Predictably Attempt in it . Talk about being EXPOSED ...........

I don't want you to go away or people like you. I want honest discourse and dialogue. If I speak of "socialism or socialist ideals" i'm generally speaking for safety nets and public projects, not Venezuela or taking away freedoms.

That may be true, but Obama did speak of the socialist ideals and goals that have led to the situation in Venezuela. Obamacare was a perfect example. It did exactly what many of us predicted it would do: it caused health care rates to skyrocket, insurance rates to skyrocket, and deductibles to climb to such levels so that insurance was still unaffordable to use for many. His regulations caused businesses to stop growing as their cost to do so became prohibitive, slowing any recovery from the recession that Bush forced us into while keeping unemployment high and wages low. The only businesses that I know of that did good under his administration were the state-sanctioned 'green' industries... perhaps you were lucky enough to have one of those.

I want honest discussion as well; there is a middle ground between unrestrained capitalism and oppressive socialism. But whenever someone simply dismisses the misery me and mine went through because it didn't affect them, it makes such impossible. There are people who are still in pain from Trump's policies as well; I will recognize that fact, and try to find solutions. You do not even recognize the problems that existed under Obama.

That is the problem.

Also, How are you doing, heard you had some major surgery? Hope you're recovering well.

Yeah, open-heart quintuple bypass. Biology lab frog.

I have good days and rough days... rough one today. I'm basically running a notch above coma while I heal up, and every time I wake up is different. Better than this morning, though... everything hurt. Now the bruises are disappearing and the pain is subsiding.

The doc seems to think all this is good...

Everybody screaming "but the 2 party system" needs to explain why no other parties are running anywhere ?

435 House elections and 35 Senate elections in 2018.

Where are any "3rd" party candidates running if it's supposed to be so popular?

šŸ’„šŸ™ˆšŸ’„

Bernie Sanders wasn't even allowed to run and he is a democrat. What chance does a non-party candidate have? Who is going to hand debate questions to a non-party candidate? Who is going to rig primaries for a non-party candidate? The people would love a third party candidate but the existing parties won't allow it.

The democratic party may fall apart but liberals are not going anywhere. They will just continue the foolishness and failed policies with another name and a new flag to wave.

Glad you're healing up! It will take time.

I realize not everything was unicorns and sunshine under Obama, just like not everything is a skittles rainbow under Trump, but I just think we need to recognize that the entire country wasn't in misery during the Obama years, nor was the country ruined. We can't have a good political discussion when we start on one end of that spectrum (all great, all bad).

Also not defending Obamacare...I realize there was bad to it. My insurance rates go up every year and have for the past couple of decades...I barely noticed. ObamaCare actually saved my family with the pre existing condition stuff. It allowed my wife to move jobs, still get the healthcare she needed and it literally upgraded my family and prevented financial ruin. But I realize that's not everyones' experience

To be honest, I have long given up having a "good political discussion" about the state of the country under Obama. Every single attempt devolves into a shouting match with one side screaming all was good and the other screaming all was bad. It's been two years, and nothing has changed. At some point, one simply gives up and accepts the futility of a situation.

So I will continue to call out anyone who claims that the misery I felt due to Obama's policies didn't exist. In a society where one must walk around on eggshells to prevent offending others, it seems disingenuous to even put such a notion forward when those who support this silly war against offense are so blatantly and patently offensive themselves.

Another example of Democrat crash and burn:

Ben & Jerry's Founders Creating Democrat-Inspired Ice Cream Flavors to 'Take Back Congress'

I can't believe that Democrats still do not understand that when they bring politics into business, it is not going to go well. What exactly are they thinking? Don't they understand that they are alienating a large portion of their customers?

Some of the comments on their Twitter reacting to this are amusing. Maybe they are starting to realize what a can of worms they have opened.

Like I said, maybe that's because you're not middle class like me. When health insurance goes up, I can't afford it and I really can't afford the penalty for not having it (before Trump ended that). When my weekly paycheck is decreased by $30 bucks because of higher taxes, I notice it. It's a big deal to me.

I felt that Trump was more of a third party candidate even though he ran as a Republican and the reason I feel that way is because he wasn't like all the Republicans we've grown used to. He also pulled not only Republicans, but Independents and Democrats as well.

I never purchased their brand anyways. Bringing politics into it just solidifies it all. Politics inserted into anything besides politics completely decimates whatever it touches in my opinion.

The progressive liberals will over time cause many democrats to become independents or not vote for these progressive liberals.

California is what happens when republicans flee a state over time to states like Texas, AZ, UT and other low crime, pro business, pro gun, low tax states.

Fair enough, I just feel I have say the same thing you did....So I will continue to call out anyone who claims that the prosperity I experienced due to Obama's policies didn't exist.

You don't have to walk on eggshells with me and I try really hard not to devolve into a shouting/insult match. I succeed most of the time.

Oh those things hurt me. My truck is 20 years old. There was a time with 3 kids that the only time I had insurance for them was because it was provided by the state of Oregon. I think I went without insurance for about 5 years because I couldnt' afford it. I'm just saying that most years my insurance goes up by 20-50 bucks regardless of Obama's policies. And my taxes go up every year as well. No matter who the president was/Is. I expect Trump will be more of the same.

There's already no difference between Democrats or Republicans.

The difference is the key words and generally they don't do anything about them.

Consider the following. Republican Keyword -Abortion. But Abortion laws at the federal level never change.
Democratic Keyword-climate change. Did Obama do more for the environment than Bush? And would the Paris accord have negatively effected Americans?

Republican keywords - smaller government/less taxes. That hasn't happened since Reagan.

It's all a sham. They both vote for wars and more funding for the Alphabet agencies. They both are lawyers and bankers. They both get Billions of dollars in corporate donations. They both always vote to help large corporations.

There is no difference.

agreed. One of the POLICY things that pisses off the elite in both parties is that DJ Trump is, accidentally, de-constructing the American Imperium.

NATO is a tool of American hegemony over Europe.

The TPP and NAFTA were us creating a "co-prosperity sphere" like that of Imperial Japan in the 1930s.

Trump hasn't even dreamed of intervening in Venezuela. A first for an American president in the past 120 years.

The elites in both parties are outraged by DJ Trump's Isolationism. You cannot have an American Imperium without controlling international law... If it keeps up like this, America will end up like Switzerland or Finland....!

The Democrats abandoned the working class of the USA decades ago. They are fully focused and honed in on the 40% that don't work and may or may not even be a legal citizen.
