I remember in December 2016 (r thereabouts) people in this site bragging that Trumpreally was dirty, after all why would those "governments" be investigating him, too.

If it was true, it would be hard for me to be outraged.

Considering it came out we were spying on the allied leaders a a few years back.

The "good" people inside the government, the ones that do take their jobs and responsibilities seriously, had to be utterly appalled at what was happening.

Tools meant to be used for certain LEGAL purposes were being weaponized and used in an attempt to change the election, and they were most likely going batsh!t crazy as they watched all of this happening. I know I would have been.

Then, when the election didn't go the way they "expected" it to go, they attempted to bring down a sitting president to cover up everything that they had done.

So, once the bad actors have been found and removed, replaced with real patriots, suddenly those same deep employees are now able to speak up and fight back.

This entire affair will end up changing our government in such a way as to make everyone's heads spin, this won't be allowed to happen again.

BUT, I am certainly enjoying the show.

Yes but if Russian interference led to such a huge investigation into them and trump and sanctions against Russia

Why wouldn’t this (if true) warrant equal investigations into those spying and the democrats they were helping, and sanctions against those countries?

This is different because:

1. Every country does that. Not justifying, just saying they do.
2. You have no jurisdiction on foreign territory.

So there's not much you can do when it comes to foreign spying.

Thing is, if this is true, it means that the government weaponized the DOJ/FBI to illegally do things for them in order to win the election.

If this doesn't outrage you, man... I don't know what will.

especially after so many here denied there was even a tube to begin with

That part would bug me, but we get some of the material from the UK spy program on their citizens, wouldn't be surprised if leaders were involved.

I'll clear it up, all the spy programs go against rights and gives governments too much power.

But in context, I can't cherry pick which ones I don't like more, make sense? I wish we could do away with these practices, but I don't see that happening.

If you believe Trump was spied on (I'd bet on it), do you think he is the only candidate who has been?

If Trump was spied on, I'd be willing to bet Bernie was too. Think about it, a socialist with actual traction, TPTB likely did.

trump was definitely spied on. that is why he had a secure top secret phone set up in the oval office.

...and even then we don't know that, infact, the general populace is probably lead to assume some things within the Presidency concerning National Security.

Ummm...what's different is what and whom he was spied on...for

That's what makes this so egregious...Spied on to assemble a phony dossier that was then falsely used to try and unseat a President...
That's the definition of meddling...collusion...and conspiracy...

How did you get "British and Australian governments were illegally spying on the Trump Campaign" from this? It looks like you're basically just repeating what Papadopolous said and I hate to be the one to break it to you but the guy clearly has a problem with talking # to sound important.

Last I checked, Stefan Halper wasn't British.

I agree, just like when journalists are spied on because they won't reveal sources.

Even if the information leaked poses no national security risk, and is beneficial to the public.

I just don't select which instances make me more angry, they all suck.

So the spying was all good because he wasn't British?

That sounds like when some liberals asked if it was OK that Russia meddles because we do it to, went so far to say it was an attack.

I wont speak for Ante, but I'm consistent on this matter, if you read back I always say if it's something we do on a broad scale I won't be the one to whine, because it looks fickle or selective.
