Good Morning All
So, I've been very focused on the midterms, spent hours last night going through every bond measure, judicial appointments and a few local issues on
the ballot ( doing a mail-in ) and I feel like I made good, educated decisions on who and what I voted for. LOL, it was very interesting how I
approached this compared with the past, for example, in the past, anything that gave money to schools, environment, hospitals " good causes ", I would
always vote for, not really thinking through or understanding the wasteful bureaucracy I was helping to create and the organisations behind them.
At heart I do have some " socialist " values, and believe it's reasonable that collectively we pay for the services and infrastructure that we all
share. The difference now I guess is that I'm able to research and discern things with a new Q-spective. I know, for example, that the schools in this
area ( local measure ) do NOT need 105 million dollar bond to provide more handicapped access, more access to all ( WTH does that even mean ? ) and
more computers ! My sis was in PTA and even the local president while her kids were in school here, she still goes to meetings and helps since her
kids left for college. I've been on many of the campus's helping her with projects too. Anyways, we agreed on this one, woo-hoo, it's a waste of money
In contrast I did vote to fund more affordable housing for Vets and lower income citizens. I also voted for minimum regulations on housing farm
animals, what can I say, I know it's the circle of life to eat animals, but I don't want them tortured in the life they have.
Sorry, don't mean to ramble and waste space, Dash are you really gone on 11-11-18 ? Weird this might end on thread 13 huh ? LOL, I say we go for 17
One last thing, am I morally obligated to help my Dad vote against everything I'm trying to fight for ? He wouldn't even be registered if it weren't
for me, I'll have to help him read it, fill it out, get the stamps to mail it and he's just going to tell me to vote all Dems. He's too old to argue
with and stuck in the JFK days of Democrats, dammit, I should have just not asked him he wanted to vote, but I did and he said yes.....sigh.....
