....Literally there is NOTHING as far as evidence to prove, or even speculate any of this.

How the hell this came about as a theory blows me away.

Next thing youll be telling me is they are beaming signals to Comet Pizza

Through a PizzaStarGate?

No one is trying to prove anything really, but speculation over such extreme measures? I think that's warranted.

Literally this thread is proof that "post modern" idealism is the prevalent theory...........

Disgusting

Hello and Welcome to ATS. This site, while currently very political, was built on keeping things like this in the forefront, just so it wouldn't be brushed aside. Sure it may be nothing but a simple janitor watching two Korean girls pee on each other in a hotel room with gold curtains, but perhaps it's not. And if enough people who may have some local knowledge can assist with fact finding, there may well be some new truth uncovered here.

But to come to a conspiracy site and talk down to people discussing a possible conspiracy is idiotic in a dimension not yet understood. So please, enjoy your time here, read and learn, and please, try not to make that mistake again. New guy gets 1 pass. Only 1.

So, what youre basically saying is that only people who blindly accept every conspiracy theory are welcome here? No dissenting opinions are allowed? No skepticism is allowed? Nobody is allowed to disagree, or point out when a theory is ridiculous? You prefer to create an echo chamber?

Amen

*slow clap*

And when is the last time you saw the FBI come in without even telling the locals what was going on, announce an investigation that apparently included a manhunt, the area was immediately evacuated, only for the FBI to completely disappear from the scene, fail to set up a perimeter that wasn't so filled with holes, the suspect could have walked out with a brass band and not been seen, get a warrant 4 days after arriving, then leave with no arrests, despite knowing who they were looking for.

Apparently a logical viewpoint and measured analysis is not welcomed.

I applaud you for not going off the cliff. Thank god we have measured members like you on ATS.

Love ya buddy, keep up the good work

Thats all good and well. with one problem

The OP has absolutely NO proof to his accusations, so you can blow me up all you want, chastise me for criticizing the OP etc etc all you want.

But my point still stands, and there is absolutely NOTHING about any of this, that leads any thinking mind to believe child porn was involved.

End of.

what exactly are you criticizing my OP over?

If the story is made up then

What does it say about the US government if it's now going to use CP as a cover story. How bad can the real issue be to cover it with CP. Or what does it say about government employees who would go down that path.

Child Pornography reason behind Sunspot Observatory Closure

Hi everyone, it's been a while. What's this all about?

I've been keeping my head down around here, so forgive me if i'm not all caught up, but.... what?? The FBI evacuated and closed down an entire observatory from ~September 6th-17th over fears that the janitor was using their wifi to view and possibly obtain underage pornography?

The source of child pornography was traced to an IP address used at the observatory and a source within the building observed a computer with "not good" images on it, the warrant states.

...and then, the janitor, whose name is on the warrant, doesn't get charged with a crime?

An investigation by the FBI revealed that a janitor is the main suspect in the search, however he has not been charged with a crime even though his name in on the warrant.

The warrant states the suspect would use the observatory Wifi and a personal laptop to download the child pornography.

i'm sorry, am i starting to finally lose it, or does anybody else find anything particularly odd about the FBI closing down an entire observatory for about a week and a half over something they could have potentially protected people from in one afternoon?

The observatory in the mountains of southern New Mexico had been closed since Sept. 6 because of an undisclosed security concern, but reopened on Monday.

Huh, got it. So even though it seems like this article wants you to believe it's because of a creepy janitor, it basically ends with a reaffirmation of the fact that the "actual reason" is still undisclosed.

Can anybody help me out here with this? Why does this feel like an episode of X-files?

EDIT:

i'm re-reading my thread here, and it seems like i'm giving off the impression that i was unaware this observatory had been closed this whole time. let me clarify: i didn't comment about this on these forums until now, and have been eagerly reading up on this story since the day of.

i was on the fence about what this might be and how suspicious this case is until about 2 minutes after reading this article. i'm confident now that this is an attempt to bury the whole issue from public attention.

Amusing and bizarre indeed, if the story's genuine then there's more going on than what's been told.
