Originally posted by worldwatcher people unwilling to deal with real issues, their sexuality and being honest with themselves. They use

Worldwatcher said this much MORE eloquently than did I....so I am just going to quote her, in my way to AGGREE completely with this.

Honestly it really has nothing to do with fantasy or reality. Or family issues.
Porn is just simply so easy to get. Anyone can type in sex on the net and see a gorgeous naked model. Also you can get a huge variety of different
people. Everyday you can find something different that turns you on. Its just an easy way to help get yourself off. And since most guys are easily
stimulated by the visual.........its a very easy way to help highten your private little shabang!!!.....ITs just sexuality. It also doesn't mean
that a guy who looks at porn is going to cheat on his wife. Somtimes its just a simply private pleasure that is harmless.

The best anser that I have heard to your general question is that some people might use porn as a substution for a relationship. Or that they are not
formaing a relationship, because they use porn.
I can see some truth in this statment. I will not try to coment on the why's or for's. I will just let that be debated.

Porn addiction?
I thought everyone liked porn!
I like Porn-flakes, porn chips, porn-on-the-cob, porn-off-the-cob, pornbread, pop-porn, creamed porn.
What would happen to a good ole Bar-B-Que without porn-on-the-cob or go to the movies withouth a big bag of pop-porn?
Porn is good food!

I have heard on the radio and read post, that say since the internet, more men that normally would not be addicted to porn, are having problems.
Just looking at porn is no big deal from time to time.
If it affects your relationship or your job and you cant stop, there is a problem.
Some guy was on the radio that said he spent 500$ a month on online porn. Now thats a problem.

Bikereddie, How old am I doesn't really matter. I'm not trying to convince anyone or myself about anything, but am trying to explore ideas. We all
have habits we don't like but we do them anyways. Like I said, I can be conciously viewing porn and think it's bad what I'm doing but I have to do
it and when the big bang comes I can close all the windows on the computer and forget it ever happened, until the impulse to do it again. That's why
I am talking about addiction in this thread.
I think World Watcher and River goddess are really insightful in their remarks. I think the answer has to be an individual one but we can answer the
question, yes, porn addiction can cause problems or be symptoms of problems in cross-sexual relationships. It would still be interesting to hear
peoles opinions on which percentage of society really is addicted to porn.

True, Pornography has been around since the first caveman picked up a stick and made a sketch in the sand. But begining in the 1800's, with the
advent of the camera, and the motion picture camera, there has been an explosion. After that, Polaroid and Digital Cameras eliminated the need for
processing (and hence embarasment) and pornography became even more prolific. Social attitudes toward masturbation have become more positive in the
last century, and the emergence of HIV and other STDs have allowed pornography to be almost encouraged as a safe alternative to sex. The personal
computer grants free access and anonimity to anyone interested in it. Film and television are so racy, that in comparison, pornography hardly seems
so hard-core anymore. But I think the heaviest influence that modern culture imposes on the subject is the disconect that many people feel. Whether
shy or embarased, introverted or unatractive, pornography is there for you. People have a lot of problems with intimacy, and porn is the simplest
alternative. Pornography is much easier than actually meeting someone and building a relationship with a real person.

When I was 14?? somewere in there I would wank 6 or more times a day lol.
Now Im 36 and I either have sex or wank once per day. I guess it wears off with age.
My addiction to porn lasts about 5 min per day =). If I am with the wife it may last 30 to an hour if I am in a generous mood lol.

I heard of one man that he wanked off so often his wanker wanked out and hit the floor. The doctors at the emergency room said it was a close call,
but they were able to re-attach the victims wanker so he lived another day to wank off and he just faded into the "great wanker world"

I think you probably have it right with these statments. I do supose it is something different to each person, what was menchend hear just might be
the root.

Porn? I have no problem with that. Addiction? Anything that a person can't live without isn't healthy. Coffee, drugs, booze, smokes, whatever.
Addiction is not a good thing.

'Porn" is like a lifeboat of sorts for times when a guy doesn't have a partner. When I'm in a relationship I rarely look at it. But for the times
when you don't have the luxury of a sexual partner such as in between relationships it is a good sensual release. Think of what some people might be
doing instead if they didn't release those sexual frustrations by masturbating.
Looking at "porn" can be a boost to a couples sexual relationship. They might get new ideas, I've certainly seen things I would have never known
about otherwise. Or it can increase desire in otherwise sexually tepid people.
Where it does become a problem however is when a person begins to like fantasy better than real life. This can hurt a persons development and can
certainly damage a relationship.
I don't think looking at "porn" is dangerous. I think that some people's behavior when taking those male enhancement drugs can be more dangerous
than "porn" ever could be.
Btw "porn" is in quotes because It is such a generic all inclusive word.

What a ridiculous thing to say much less think. I know many couple separated because of porn, I know some woman who don't mind it...I don't know any
anyone actually, male or female that "love" porn.... Seems if they "love" it, they have a problem with it. Unless of course they are
teens that love anything involving sex

Porn itself probably isn't addictive, but the high you get from orgasm most definately is
Personally, I look at porn when I'm bored. No work to do, can't go out on the town, nothing good on tellie, bored of playing games, so I kill time
looking at porn sites. Sometines I can look at it and be turned on, and other times I can look at it in a completely detached way with no arousal at
all...just something to keep me occupied.
And hey, it works wonders for those forearm muscles & a good strong grip
