Well, Obama is most interested in his own legacy and part of that was the Iran deal.
So, one of his people is dealing to try and keep it alive with Europe to hopefully wait out Trump.
Seems pretty obvious.

Why risk it? what's worth that? unless he is looking at worse than a tarnished rep and a possible 3 years.

Because he's a traitor.

I'm going to go with neo on this one.

He thinks his past record as a "civil servant" and his awards and medals and positions in government is enough to protect him. All these swampy long-time taxpayer leeches are like this. They think their past positions are their cushion against the law.

These people are arrogant and stick their finger up at The American People. We have laws and rules. He is breaking them and doing it with a dare.

He is being investigated. He's in trouble.

Ummm...so...can we change the Swift Boat...To Swift Boot and kick his ass into a cell somewhere...?

Asking...for a friend...

“What I have done is tried to elicit from him what Iran might be willing to do in order to change the dynamic in the Middle East for the better,”

“What do you do to try to get peace in Syria? I mean, those are the things that really are preoccupying, because those are the impediments to people, to Iran’s ability to convince people that it’s ready to embrace something different.”

just like the savior met with rocket man... you know. in the name of peace. progress. moving forward.

maybe its one of those situations?

you think?

Is Kerry the Current Sec. of State? Was he asked to go by the Trump Admin?

That's the Difference.

You should post the second paragraph that cancels out the first.

The question arises as to why this law is not being used nor has been used successfully in the past except to drain bank accounts.

There are other laws that could be used that cover his actions.

Again the question is why does the government let him do it unless they support his actions.

Because Kerry believes he is above the law, and the law itself is so old, and has never been successfully prosecuted, that his chances are good that nothing will happen to him....and his statement to the Iranians to "wait out the Trump administration" proves his arrogance and contempt for the office of the President.

I would love to see President Trump say "Kerry you're fired" from the political scene, your security clearance has been revoked, and we will be starting prosecution against you for violation of the Logan Act, which Kerry is clearly in violation of.

Calculated risk, that is minimal at best for him.

Nothing will happen to him even if he broke laws.

If he were a conservative republican former Secretary of state and say was meeting with and/or talking to Russia like this he would have already been indicted, and facing every charge they could apply ending in major fines and prison.

Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) Tweeted:
John Kerry had illegal meetings with the very hostile Iranian Regime, which can only serve to undercut our great work to the detriment of the American people. He told them to wait out the Trump Administration! Was he registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act? BAD! twitter.com...

BOMBSHELL: Republican Operative Claims Former Obama Officials Are Advising Europe On How To Evade U.S. Sanctions On Iran

This weekend, it became known that John Kerry has had meetings with Iran where he advised them to just wait out the Trump presidency. However, that may just be the tip of the iceberg. Republican operative Richard Goldberg tweeted an ominous claim yesterday about Obama officials advising Europe on how to evade U.S. sanctions on Iran which are due to take effect this fall.
