New Zealand arrests 41 in child porn sting

New Zealand authorities have arrested 41 men accused of importing child pornography, the Dominion Post reported Monday.

American officials provided New Zealand authorities with information about the men accessing overseas Web sites, the Post said.

All of the suspects -- including four teachers and a sports coach -- have been charged with importing objectionable material, and one man has been charged with exporting it. Police said they expect to make further arrests once seized computers are examined.

UPDATE - School teachers and sports coaches were among 48 people interviewed by police in a crackdown on child pornography and abuse over the last two days.

The sting, codenamed Operation Tercel, resulted in 19 arrests and the seizure of 113 computers after police acted on information received from overseas enforcement agencies.

These people are sick, and if they are caught as a by product o the war on terror, well good for the Spooks and SF guys who fight day in day out on our behalf.

Who ever makes, distributes, or owns this stuff should get thrown into the slammer, and the key to the cell melted down.
