helps just to get a visual sometimes.

so apparently you can fit 1.3 million earths inside the sun.

that is friggin crazy man.

just helps to get perspective on how small we are and how large the whole picture is.

i tell you the sun is one scary bitch.

a constant nuclear explosion the size of a million earths.

the sun has to be the coolest thing ever

What is really crazy to me are the stars that make our Sun look tiny! Some would stretch past where Mars orbits if swapped with our own Sun.

Hard to get a real grasp on the actual size of our known Universe.

yeah thats wild man.
i didnt know that

know any by name?
i want to look some # up.

it is hard to fathom how large some things are and how vast space is

its pretty funny that we think we matter when clearly we are nothing

Beatlegeuse is a pretty big one.
Something like 700 times bigger than the sun

The rest of the joke is:

"I've made a model showing how many Earths could fit in the Sun."
"Wow. That's got to be at least a dozen."
"Well, you're not wrong."

If Betelgeuse were at the center of the Solar System, its surface would extend past the asteroid belt, completely engulfing the orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and possibly Jupiter.

That’s crazy, I’ve never thought of it like that.

I’m curious who counted all those mini-Earths inside that model of the sun.

I wonder if they're just going by diameter or volume. Because if it's just round Earths, then there is going to be some space in there for some more planet material. Somebody who is good at calculus can take over from here. Thank you.

Heres another example of the vastness of space, reminds me of old spectrum games

footnote :- you will get bored but imagine your in a
spaceship

If the moon were only 1 pixel

Then stop and pause and remember how insignificant your life is, then be alive to the fact of its your only go and enjoy every precious second you have.

that image and that pixel thing is crazy man

i will be thinking about this for a while

we just dont matter. thats it

And certainly stop worrying about what other people, other insignificant specks of nothing in the universe think of you.

Sol is to VY Canis Majoris what the earth is to the sun in scale.

Think about the largest of the stars in the universe and then realize how tiny we really are.

And just think those giant stars could have giant sized planets orbiting them. And if one of those giant sized planets has life.....

It truly is. Hear me out. There is this video game 'No Man's Sky' where they have simulated something like 160+ quintillion planets. There are literal tens of thosands of 'systems' each with 2-6 completely unique planets plus moons and each fully traversable in each galaxy. And then there are 254 (binary) different galaxies which can be traversed via black holes at the center of each galaxy.

Putting 100+ hours into that game has actually given me some perspective on how huge it all really is. And the damned game only takes up ~15 GB of storage space. So i feel that is a strong argument for anyone whom believe we are in a simulation. Just saying lol.

THIS game combined with how big our actual physical universe is has led me to believe a 'galactic federation' of sorts combined of different species is not only possible, but probable, somewhere out there.
