Someone here already figured it mostly out a while ago. But people took detour and wanted to talk about solar flares, aliens and other stuff. Reread the thread
The first or second 50 pages? My brain hurts already from reading too many threads on this.

Am I alone in feeling odd vibes from some posts on the last 10-20 pages. As if people are trying to get others triggered and or say something that will get this thread closed... I know some are archiving it but we would still lose the continuity that is going.
Other than that normal paranoia. I’m psyched that we are still working this.

I've pretty much eliminated the aliens, and sun issues myself. The towers/ antenna are key here,
I've figured that much I think.
Lol was hoping for a clue,,,

I haven't been researching this in depth as many of you, and this may have already been pointed out. If so, pardon my ignorance. But, according to TripAdvisor, this shutdown notice was issued in advance to take affect Jan. 1, 2018.

About
Effective January 1, 2018, the Sunspot Astronomy & Visitors Center will be closed until further notice.

Maybe some stragglers lost their rental houses and were more or less evicted. Time was up. This place was on the chopping block and they all needed to leave whether they wanted to or not. Maybe they required an "escort" to get them off the property.

It was going on mothballs, but new Mexican state university and AURA. (AURA sucks), took it on for university education and research.
It's funded much more lightly by the NSF now. But appears to be sticking around.

After they "fix the security issue" alongside the appropriate authorities.

It’s because I’m a ginger isn’t it?!?? Even aliens hate us gingers, maybe they’re trying to find if we have souls or not.🤣
I’m only half country boy grew up in Nor Cal until I was 18 and got the hell out.

Even if I reread the thread, there's a lot of posts here and a lot of other things discussed besides solar flares and aliens, how would I know the answer when I see it?

Because it will probably be the most boring and mundane one knowing my luck.

I think frustration is setting in. A lot of people have put a lot of effort this week into researching this.
I know I'm about burnt.
And now with every key word bringing up boat loads of copy paste news attempts its getting damn near impossible.
And after every identical canned statement from AURA people are getting bent.

So yeah, I think your observation is accurate. Hopefully we keep cool heads and plod on

Hey gang, touching base here after a couple of crazy days at work and home.
Seems the thread has doubled since I last read! Right on, good work folks. I skimmed most but had to give up. Seems we don't have an answer, YET ;-)

I'm local. I posted earlier that military air traffic was minimal and flying at higher altitudes. Today I noticed the flyboys/girls are back to normal. Wing tips nearly touching at 2kAGL. Always makes me jealous :-) although yesterday afternoon I saw 2 helos flying from the N towards the ridge to the S. Can't see sunspot directly from my house so for all I know they could've been headed to Alamogordo, El Paso, or anywhere. One was large, single rotor, open door. Other was small, black w red, looked like state police, definitely not the Life flight from Gerald Champion hospital in Alamogordo but looked like a Bell similar to the Life flight. But again, I don't know what their destination was nor do I know their origination.
I don't have anything constructive to add at the moment, just wanted to make an update on my previous observations.
I'm taking my dogs up to Sacramento lake mañana, same ridge as sunspot. I'll post any worthwhile info after.
Thanks to all!

Sounds like a nice day you have planned, if you haven't noticed yet, they have guards posted at the facility now, not that you were planning on going in.
Just a heads up
