Sorry Barry, you are no longer president. His speech was more inflammatory that anything Trump 'reacts' to. That is the difference. Trump reacts to what people do to him. Barack is telling people to resist. He should be, as a former head of state, trying to mend fences not build larger walls.

There was so much deflection and pointing fingers it was ridiculous. Seriously.

He showed what a sad sad man he is in his speech. Damn, I could feel him wanting to say 'cracka mofos' taking back the country....it was on the tip of his racist tongue....

Its sad, isn’t it?? The left has nothing positive to run on. Just Trump/conservative hate, higher taxes, open borders, relaxed laws, manufactured outrage and idenity politics tangled with political correctness.

What is their GD political platform?
Who are their leaders?

That’s something they don’t want to discuss. They’d rather insult their opponents their entire way to election night rather than get f*cking real.

So GD sad!
Their leaders are the Communist Party USA. DSA is just a socialistic satellite of that.

So Obama is back (yay!)

First, Obama lies and asks how hard is it to say nazis are bad?

www.cnn.com...

This was a lie repeated again and again by the media, that trump wouldnt call out nazis.

As I have shown before, here are trumps three speeches referring to charlottesville.

In the first here, he directly calls out racist on all sides.

www.vox.com...

In this second and third, he specifically mentions neo nazis and the KKK by name and condemns them.

www.nytimes.com...

abcnews.go.com...

So the mere fact that Obama would spread this lie shows that he is still playing the same race game he is accusing trump of playing.

Trump took over two days to comment on the lethal terrorist attack in Charlottesville by a self declared Neo-Nazi.
When he finally did he talked about "all sides".

That is commonly called the Fallacy of False Equivalence.

Obama asked "How hard is it to condemn Neo-Nazi's?"

An question publicly asked by the GOP leaders of Trump's own party.

* Why did you choose to not include excerpts in your cited Trump speech's?
I did review the Transcripts and don't believe they support what you are claiming.
Please show me the excerpts that you think support your claim.

Trump did condemn the killer immediately.

Obama chose to never condemn the BLM group that the dallas cop killer was from, and instead lectured the police on their funerals of the need to have better relationships with african americans.

I chose not to provide excerpts because they are so long, thats why I provided the link to his full speeches. But I guess you were unable to read those speeches for yourself.

Here are the excerpts that say what I claim.

Speech one.

But we’re closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Virginia. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides. On many sides. It’s been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. This has been going on for a long, long time.

It has no place in America. What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives. No citizen should ever fear for their safety and security in our society, and no child should ever be afraid to go outside and play, or be with their parents, and have a good time.

I just got off the phone with the Governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, and we agreed that the hate and the division must stop, and must stop right now. We have to come together as Americans with love for our nation and true affection — really — and I say this so strongly — true affection for each other.

...

Above all else, we must remember this truth: No matter our color, creed, religion or political party, we are all Americans first. We love our country. We love our God. We love our flag. We’re proud of our country. We’re proud of who we are. So we want to get the situation straightened out in Charlottesville, and we want to study it. And we want to see what we’re doing wrong as a country, where things like this can happen.

My administration is restoring the sacred bonds of loyalty between this nation and its citizens, but our citizens must also restore the bonds of trust and loyalty between one another. We must love each other, respect each other, and cherish our history and our future together. So important. We have to respect each other. Ideally, we have to love each other.

And again, going back to Charlottesville, we have to heal the wounds of our country. These are wounds that have been going on for, really, a long time. And I thought, and everybody thought, and everybody wants it to heal, and it will heal. And we’re going to make every effort possible to make sure that that healing procedure goes as quickly as possible.

www.vox.com...

Speech two

But based on the events that took place over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, I would like to provide the nation with an update on the ongoing federal response to the horrific attack and violence that was witnessed by everyone. I just met with F.B.I. Director Christopher Wray, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The Department of Justice has opened a civil rights investigation into the deadly car attack that killed one innocent American and wounded 20 others.

To anyone who acted criminally in this weekend’s racist violence, you will be held fully accountable. Justice will be delivered. As I said on Saturday, we condemn, in the strongest possible terms, this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence. It has no place in America.

And as I have said many times before, no matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws. We all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God.

We must love each other, show affection for each other and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty, that bring us together as Americans.

Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the K.K.K., neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

www.nytimes.com...

Speech three

TRUMP: Excuse me, excuse me. They didn’t put themselves -- and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides. You had people in that group.

Q (Inaudible.)

TRUMP: Excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did.

You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.

Q George Washington and Robert E. Lee are not the same.

TRUMP: Well know, George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down --

Excuse me, are we going to take down- are we going to take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him?

Q I do love Thomas Jefferson.

TRUMP: Okay, good. Are we going to take down the statue? Because he was a major slave owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue?

So you know what, it’s fine. You’re changing history. You’re changing culture. And you had people -- and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists -- because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.

Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people. But you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets, and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group.

And I find it funny that when someone perceived as right wing attacks someone, everyone on the right must only call out right wing violence.

But when someone on the left commits violence, then people on the left refuse to call out only left wing violence, and instead call out all violence.

Like when Scalise got shot.

Quite rightly called as an issue with 'both sides') . It's just leftist propagandists like to create their own history as well as their own crimes.

Hi Grambler,

There is an obvious member here who uses many-many usernames for no other purpose than start fights or argue until you quit. This victory gives them the thrill they seek on a daily basis. It's always the same initial attack this member uses to start what they call a skeptical opinion for debate. It's very sad someone would do this, and it's apparent this member has nothing else to do all day everyday. Don't let this member(s) deter you from all your great posts on ATS.

same old stuff coming from the Left and people who hate Trump. I think you've been very fair in your analysis. Obama was the race card for the Left as a Trojan horse and now socialism is the new accepted norm. These people are not going to accept that Obama did more damage to our country than half the other presidents combined.

First you comment that I somehow am upset at black men giving good speeches shows you are nothing more than a race baiter with nothing productive to say.

Secondly, how is me pointing out Obama lied in this speech and is a hypocrite not directly responsive to this speech?

Should I comment on Obamas speech without mentioning Obama?

Objectively false claim.

President Barack Obama said Friday that the nation was "horrified" after what he called "a vicious, calculated and despicable attack on law enforcement" in Dallas.

The White House announced Friday evening that the President would cut short his European trip by one day and visit Dallas early next week.

"There is no possible justification for these kinds of attacks or any violence against law enforcement," Obama said, speaking from the NATO summit in Poland that he is attending. "Anyone involved in the senseless murders will be held fully accountable. Justice will be done."

Obama also ordered flags lowered to half staff at the White House and on public buildings and grounds.

"The entire city of Dallas feels this to its core. We are grieving with them. I ask you say a prayer for the officers and their families. Keep them in your thoughts."

www.cnn.com...

Obama to police: Dallas shooting was a 'hate crime'
www.politico.com...

I could go on and on.
There is no comparison in the least.

My my, there are a lot of lefties who can't accept the reality that Barry was a crap President who failed miserably to achieve anything of note whilst at the wheel. He did, however, divide the country, fund terrorism, spy on the media, weaponise the Executive branch against political opponents, create the biggest govt spy operation in history (far surpassing the Nazi's operation) and jail whistleblowers. So there's that I suppose.

Yes as I said, Obama called out the killer, but did not call out the Black Lives matter groups he was with.

As showed you, Trump called out the killer, but called out both sides for violence.

Then trump specifically twice more called out nazis and the KKK, while to this day I have never seen Obama call out the BLM group that was holding the rally when that killer shot 5 police officers.

I used to question WHY they insist on consistently saying he didn't condemn Nazism, now I get it. Finally.

They're not trying to convince anyone, because conservatives KNOW what he said, and they don't fall for the emotional falsehoods.

All they are doing is keeping their base fired up with hate. Simple as that. They want the left ANGRY, so that they will turn out and vote, and they do not care that they are basing this off of blatant lies. They know that the right turns out heavier on midterm election years, and they're desperately trying to hold that trend off.

Just once, I wish leftists would at least be morally consistent. Morally honest would be nice too.

Bringing up a relevant example of Obama doing what Trump did is perfectly acceptable despite you saying it's not. Because it proves the left's hypocrisy in selective criticism and selective outrage.

If you were not outraged when Obama did it, you have no right to be so now.
