Aside from it being my son's tenth birthday..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TY!!!

I really needed a smile, cause I'm feeling rather down today..so I went out for a walk, and for the second time in as many weeks, I found a ten dollar bill on the sidewalk mixed with the colored leaves.

Then..I can always count on my kids to give me bouts of random laughter.
My daughter, who will be 5 in a couple of weeks...asked my permission to go outside to play.
I told her to clean up her mess first, and her response was this..
" OH , Alright YOUR MAJESTY! "

Really gotta watch what I say..it comes back to bite me in the ass.

This might sound soppy, but I don't really care.

My girlfriend makes me smile and laugh every day.

She is truly as mad as a box of frogs and a bag of badgers combined.

And a wicked sense of humour

I truly am a lucky man

Last night my 4-year old came running to me and said:

"Mommy, please help me find my bubble of fat!"

Huh?

"What is a bubble of fat?"

"You know..that bubble of fat. It's in my toy box."

At this point he's quite distressed and off we go to his room to find his "bubble of fat".
His room is trashed obviously because of his repeated attempts to locate the elusive bubble of fat.

"Honey, your gonna have to tell me what the bubble of fat looks like."

Now he looks at ME like I'm the one who's slow on the uptake.

"It's that guy, mom...that was in this." He points to a black case that my husband gave him that held his old Star Wars figures. Finally, it dawned on me he was talking about Bobo Fett.

Bobo Fett = Bubble of Fat

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

that's hysterical. My son does that and my wife and I agreed to never correct him because its so damned cute. thus, we all refer to the goblin characters from spiderman comics and movies as gobliMs.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Ya'll are probably going to think this my oddest post yet.
I'm smiling because all my kids made it home safe from work last night.
In the area in which I live, a warning was issued on the evening news that a cougar was spotted roaming the streets about a 10 minute walk from my house.
Footprints on the scene confirmed the sighting. I was terrified because that is the very route my children take every night when they walk home from work.
I called them to warn them.
I was never so relieved, to have them home safe.

a bit of background first.

a couple of weeks ago I was driving with the family and the kids were, so we thought, asleep in the back. My wife and I are talking about how we didn't sign the kids up for any afterschool programs as a result of our both being overwhelmed at work. So, my wife suggested we sign our son up for this gym class and he suddenly speaks out from the back and says he doesn't want to go to the gym class. I ask him what he wants to do and he says "um, I want to have class with papa."

I relay this to my dad, who is so flattered and excited that he tells his secretary to never make appointments for wednesday afternoons as he is going to be spending those days with my son.

Week one was last week and it was a blast for both of them.

My dad just called, he's sitting in a restaurant with my son and he's cracking up. First he tells me my son wanted this giant toy from some store and he said "sure but only if you carry it." He said my son then carried this monster box around the store for ten minutes and, after tiring, he dragged and pushed the box around the store. Then my dad tells me they went to Virgils (bbq joint) for burgers because my son said he wanted to eat there. My dad asked him if he like hamburgers and his response was "yes, I had one once but I didn't finish it because I was in a rush. let's get another one because I don't have anywhere to go."

The joy in my dad's voice has planted a nice smile on my face.

The boxes of ATS books that arrived today put a nice smile on my face.

Today has been a good day. I'll probably get run over by a bus on the way home, killing the mood, and me in the process.

Priceless, I'm sure.
Pondering the memories and joys being had 'tween the two. *smile*

truth is, I've been alternating between saying Damn and giggling all day.

doesn't hurt that the two ladies above me both had dreams of crakeur last night. (please don't tell me otherwise, my massive ego would deflate, sending me crashing down to earth, possibly harming small kittens when I crashed)
