I try to teach my kids right. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
There is a homeless man in my city, who frequents the downtown area, and plays his violin while the open case sits nearby for donations.
A couple of times now while out and about with my 14 year old son and his girlfriend, we have seen this man and tossed a couple of dollars into his
case along with the various nickels, dimes and quarters, and even pennies that were there. I can't tell you have grateful this man is when we do
My son went to the bank to pick up his pay,and while walking down the street he saw this man again, playing away on his violin.
My son opened his wallet, and dropped a fresh 20 dollar bill into the case.
I thought the poor old guy would have a heart attack. But it was worth the money just to see the smile on his face, and the pride my son felt.
