Who's arguing that?

Ny Times?

It's an except from a copy of the letter that Trump's legal team sent to Mueller's team.

I'm combating the thread title with factual information pulled from the source you provided. Also pointing out blatant hypocrisy.

They're arguing that "when the President does it, it's not illegal".

Could you link me the quote of where is stated that?

Having a hard time to find it, not that I'm actually looking but..

That's a Richard Nixon quote. However, Trump's team is taking the same tack.

So you're lying?

See, when you use "quotation marks" you're implying that someone said it. Not anywhere, ever, Trump team argued that.

You got anything else? Ya know, other than lies and misinformation?

I used the quote marks because someone did say it, a US president, as a matter of fact.

I used the phrase as a modifier to summarize the paragraph, that I posted, from the actual letter Trump's legal team sent to Mueller. I know that nuance went over your head.

The only reason NOT to answer the basic question of "Did you attempt to obstruct the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election?" is because the answer is "yes" . Otherwise.. what's there to hide?

disappointing when historical members stoop to such stupidity...

lets ignore the past 2years of obvious lies and manipulation and just stamp him guilty

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Your naïveté is cute. It makes me miss my innocence.
If I was Trump I would refuse too. Anything Trump says CAN and WILL be used against him.
Trump has nothing to gain from it, and if he accidentally lies about what he had for breakfast, that’s all they need
The sad thing is I know you know this and I still took the time to type it out.

Hey does anyone remember when Obama finally released his birth cirtificate and the right was all “that’s the short form, we need to see the long form” and the left was all “he doesn’t have to show you sh!t, you’re just being racist.”

This is what you get

He will not answer questions because the investigation is illegal and ...

The investigation is perfectly legal, and Giuliani himself has said that the president will not speak to them because Giuliani is afraid of a "perjury trap." As Woodward's book explains, Trump is a compulsive liar, and Giuliani knows that he would probably lie under oath, opening himself up to impeachment. Truth isn't truth, remember?

And it is being just as successful. Unfortunately for the country, Trump will never resign. His staff will need to 25 him.

I feel like Rudy is secretly sabatoging Trump because he hates him and his constant smack talking to poor old Rudy. If not, then Rudy is one trash lawyer.

This is what I think as well. I'm pretty sure that Trump insulted Rudy; called him names at one point.

If Mueller had anything on Trump, he wouldn't need a confession.

End of story.

Mueller doesn't even have enough to get an actual in person interview.

So Giuliana has told the AP that Trump will not answer, in person or in writing, any questions about obstruction of justice as it relates to the probe of Russian interference into the 2016 election.

The link to that is here:

www.yahoo.com...

The only reason NOT to answer the basic question of "Did you attempt to obstruct the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election?" is because the answer is "yes" . Otherwise.. what's there to hide?

With Trump calling the anonymous NYT op-ed writer a coward, it's a bit ironic that he's too much of a coward to say "No I didn't" under oath.

wow
guess you missed the whole 5th amendment thing?

He doesn't have to anwser ANY questions period. You and I are also afforded the same rights according to Miranda.

Even police officers are aware of the utter stupidity of providing a statement or answering questions.

After any officer involved shootings, the union lawyers are quick to arrive and advise. How one concludes an admission of guilt based upon a statement made by someone else is utter baffling especially when the statement is no where near what is claimed.

TDS now affecting the hearing of liberals everywhere. Did the Affordable Care Act cover hearing ? Probably not.
